While driving with the Traffic that is in 0.17.1.1, some ideas popped into my head.

    1) Different cars in traffic have different behaviours - Now when the traffic is on, every car drives the same. Calmly, they obey speed limits etc. The idea is that game will randomly generate the risk of the AI (between 0.3 and 2.0). It will make things more intresting as there will be some calm drivers and some that are driving really risky.

    2) Make a new mode "Chaos Traffic", which works like 0.17.1.1 normal traffic does. Just for fun

    3) AI stopping on red lights and stop sings. (Idea by Mr_StickShift)

    4) Improvements of the paths, as AI often drives in zigzags on the official maps. AI also needs better lane changing, as often they just swirl around and dont care if there is some car in the way.

    5) AI needs to avoid things like parked cars, cones and other props (they will try to safely overtake them)

    6) If it is possible make AI very rarely crash into other cars (f.e drive into the rear, or force right of way). The changes of crashing would increase with the risk level that the AI has. The crashing aspect would appear very rarely like for example, it would be 5-10% for 2.0 Risk and about 0.5-1.5% for 0.3 Risk.

I'd also include the AI to stop at traffic lights and stop signs, for a bit more realism

sometimes the ai causes me to spin out because it attempts to switch into my lane
    then they pit maneuver me

They need proper lane changing, too. I can't tell you how many times I've seen them trying to lane-split and change lanes only to swerve back to their original lane.

For choice #6 - That could potentially be possible due to the AI issue at present times, lets say that if the AI spawns with a certain "Risk" number (Let's say 0.75-0.9) it could add a way for what you suppose to happen, like it deviates its track or switches to chase mode for a random AI or player vehicle. It is a stretch but does seem possible in my eyes.

Hmm... I don't think the chasing aspect would be a good idea in the normal as it could be infuriating after some time. It could be included in the Chaos Mode (Idea #2). The crashing aspect would appear very rarely like for example, it would be 5-10% for 2.0 Risk and about 0.5-1.5% for 0.3 Risk.

I talked with Gull on Discord and he might try and bring back pulling over for emergency vehicles from his original Traffic App for the hotfix, but I cannot confirm that it WILL be in the hotfix.

That was a neat feature, I don’t get why it was removed. If anyone does, enlighten me.

Stopping at stop signs and red lights would add a lot, I think. Heck, if the devs can figure out how to trigger blinkers fairly accurately, I can’t imagine stoplights is too much of a stretch.

well it might be very hard, because the blinkers are part of the car, and the stoplights/signs are inanimate items. so im not sure.
i also have no idea why everything got borked.

Well, yeah, but with my (limited) knowledge of how the rest of the AI system works, couldn’t you simply draw a line for something like a stop sign, and tell the AI to stop for 2 seconds? Traffic lights would be trickier, I guess, you’d have to coordinate the lights with the stopping. Somebody will probably figure it out someday, that person sure isn’t me, though.

But how would traffic lights work. Currently, traffic lights are just random. How would they know what car has the right of way if they're just props. It would be more complicated than stop signs.

Oh and maybe add more features to the Traffic Debug app; like allowing you to spawn a certain group of cars, toggle AI Awareness, and set the risk of all cars

Maybe if that would possible, you could do traffic lights by placing the line, then connecting it to the traffic light and make the line only work on red and yellow? I have no idea about the WorldEditor, BeamNG Content Creation and coding as a whole so I can be very wrong.
