Whatever happened to the verbal (or textual, to be more precise) update that was supposed to happen shortly after BeamNG was Greenlit on Steam? If you look at the Greenlight page right now ( link for convenience ), there is a message saying that the devs "will get back ... shortly with more information," however that message was never updated. I understand that this is largely a non-issue for those of us who follow the dev blogs/forums closely, but I imagine that a large portion of those who voted for BeamNG do not visit the forums or the blog. Those people may think that BeamNG just fell off the face of the Earth, or worse yet, simply forgot about their Steam fans. I think it would be very constructive to post an update to the Greenlight page (preferably one that isn't the same as a devblog update) so that excitement for BeamNG on Steam is rekindled and people realize that the game is still in very active development.
Let's not try to push them too much, but yes it'd be happy if we could get some news on what's going on.
Sad but true. With all due respect, I don't care how busy you are, you should never leave your fan base in the dark. People have paid money for this game and deserve more than a note once or twice a month about development progress. IMO
It's still ALPHA... Everyone knows the enormity of the next update... Coding takes time... You can't rush it.
No one is rushing anything. We just want to be updated more often. Not to be rude but it only takes a few minutes a few times a week at most to pop in and update the blog or such.
Excellent Hopefully you can put this up on the Steam Greenlight page as well, because this is a near-perfect summary of your current development (all that is needed is a link back to the main blog once you put it on Steam).
We did so prematurely because there was widely circulated news that Greenlight was set to be shut down in 30 days (it was even said by Newell himself), so we scrambled to put together a Greenlight entry in just a few hours for fear that we would lose our opportunity. It turns out Greenlight is still up, but there's your reason. Otherwise, we would have waited until the game was further along, probably in beta, before approaching the Greenlight process. We appreciate all of your support in buying the game and helping us out on Greenlight We are always working on the game; don't worry. The Steam Greenlight stuff is a tiny amount of work compared to what we are doing with the game.
