1983 Toyota Camry (V10) sedan. It felt different, yet it was decent for what it was. In 1988, the Pulsar coupe suffered freezing from the '87 winter. She decided to get a off-road vehicle, the Toyota...

...Hilux Surf. It was a not-so-practical (3-door), but reliable SUV, and it was able to go through extreme weather far better than any previous car owned by her.

In 1992, the Camry was quite old, so it was sold and replaced with a different car, this time a hardtop - a...

...salvaged 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner (One of the only ones I could find that fits the hard-top description and is not past 1992). It was a classical heaven for the family, and they enjoyed it a lot. In 1998, the husband died after serious food poisoning, and the Skyliner was starting to fall apart.... so she finally decided to get a Suzuki...

...Escudo wagon. She drove it everyday. The car is much more reliable than the Fairlane, and then she also installed a custom infotainment system on the car. In 2011, 300,000 miles later, she finally got something European, an Audi...

Audi RS4 Wagon. She was always obsessed with wagons since the Civic, and this fitted her well. After her re-marriage in 2012 with a American-Japanese man (the name of this person is Howard Domen), she finally decided to sell the Surf for a Honda A...

Honda Accord in yellow. However, she disliked the car due to it's styling and it's performance, so she sold it in just 5 weeks later. She later bought a brand new Lexus crossover, a...

So what are those - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardtop#Japan?
Unless stated otherwise, a hardtop is a car with no B pillar, and a convertible with a metal roof is either a coupe-cabrio or just a convertible.
...Hilux. In those years, she got interested in the outdoors, and the newly-debuted Hilux seemed like a great car for that - and it was. She still has it.

    1976 Jaguar XJS:
In 1975, Howard Tanner, the owner of a hotel near Las Vegas, bought a 1976 model year Jaguar XJS. He wanted an upgrade to something more prestigious and faster than his '73 Cadillac Eldorado, and the Jag served that function well, though it was less reliable.

However, in late 1980, Mr. Tanner wanted a change, so he traded the Jag in for the facelifted model. The dealer sold the trade-in to...

Chevron manager Matt Douglas. A Jaguar collector, he drove it as his daily and he absolutely loved the car. He even installed a more powerful engine to the car in 1981. But in 1982, he suddenly died by heart attack. His son, James inherited the car. But he didn't liked it, and he sold the car for a Lamborghini Jalpa. The car was sold to a Korean...

...mob member, Chan Hwaeyang. He wanted a luxury car that would blend performance and comfort, and the 320+ HP Jag was a good example of that.

However, two years later, his property was raided. The Jag went to a police auction, and was sold half-price ($5.5k, somewhere around $13k today) to...

Australian Businessman Dave Andrews. You see our old mate Dave was quite a big face in the mining scene and although he was a very young multi millionaire and had quite a few cars, he wanted something subtle to sit in his Gold Coast home. He also brought a Porsche...

It's not important what he had, it's important when he bought the Jag, what was his experience with it, and when he sold it.

    To quote the rules:
"1. Story of a car. Each poster adds info about each owner, what they did to their cars and when did they own them."
    --- Post updated ---
(OK, I'll continue it despite the rule violation, but be wary next time)
...911 Turbo. Both cars were there all year round, but as their owner would only spend a few weeks a year on the Gold Coast, they wouldn't see much action in California.

Finally, in 1989, the Jag was placed for sale. Its next owner would be...

Tony Hawks, an engineer from Packard Bell.
Before that, he is confused whether he wanted a used German or a used British luxury saloon, so he did some heavy research. After some months of thinking, he decided to buy British and got the Jaguar for an cheap price.
He tooks good care for the car and he often drive the car to his company and sometimes, his hometown at Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
But after he left Packard Bell and joined Apple Inc. in 1997, he sold it for a brand new Lexus LS400. He sold it to his friend who works in Nvidia, Mr. Patrick Lee...

accepted it! Sadly, in 2001, the car was stolen and once it was found, it was claimed no longer usable, and got a new Honda in place of the destroyed Jaguar.

    NEW STORY: 1996 Opel Vectra
In Feb. 1997, a local businessman in Brandenburg called Ensio Aschoff wanted to get a simple, servicable saloon. The Vectra B fitted his needs, and he bought it that month. It did please him well, and he kept it for a bit. In 2000, he sold off the car to Austrian...

university professor, Hans Gilberg. He just wanted a cheap and reliable car to drive with. He occasionally uses the car to move some scientific equipment.
Later in 2004, the car was wrecked in a crash. Luckily the car is repairable, and 2 months later the car was fixed, alongside an engine upgrade to a 2.6 V6 in place from the original 2.0 L4, since he sometimes complained about the car's lack of torque.
Finally, in 2006, he sold the car for a used Volvo S80 T6. The next owner will be...

Argentinian immigrant Ignacia Acuna. He wanted to get a decent used vehicle, and the Vectra someway got his attention. After he got the car, it became his favorite car yet. In 2008, he upgraded the engine to a L98 V8 from the 3rd gen Camaro. He also lowered the car by about .0930 inches from regular height. On December 2nd (2008), he decided to sell it as he decided to go back to Argentina. The new owner would be...

...British footballer Joe McEvans. Although he planned to improve the car, but sadly the car is just parked at outside of his home, never driven.
On 2009, a riot happened in Vienna. Many cars and buildings are destroyed in this incident, including the Vectra. After the riot, he decides to sell most of the car's parts, including the engine, interior and the bodywork, and the remaining parts were left to rot.

    NEW STORY: Prabang Chaowalit
Born in Chiang Mai at 1978, Prabang was raised in a family of politicians. When he was 16, he got a Datsun 510 from his father, at that time works as the Minister of Defence.
But a year later, a coup happened in Thailand and the previous government is overthrown as a result. He and his family moved to Japan, and therefore his Datsun was left in Thailand. After that, he bought a brand new Daihatsu...

Honda Beat, a small sportscar. At that point, he was returned to Thailand after years of living in Japan. With the help of his father and the new government, he successfully imported the Beat to Thailand. He drove it daily until 2001, he grew tired of the car, and bought a Nissan...
