CarlosAir updated Strato HMX 920 - Aerobatic Aircraft with a new update entry: Updated for version 0.4.3.0 :) Read the rest of this update entry...
Is there any way to have an analog controller mapped to the rudder? It's really awkward having to use the F and H keys...
Currently no. But, I have good news! The new BeamNG update introduced a new system for custom inputs mapping, so what you comment is now possible. You'll need to wait a bit until I update to mod to use this new feature.
Will do! Btw, I already made these changes to my Ultralight Trike (http://www.beamng.com/resources/eolus-l-575-ultralight-trike.24/), where you'll be able to assign pitch, throttle etc. (there's no rudder lol) to your controller or joystick. So it is possible . Though, we need to wait for a moderator to approve the update for the trike, so the file that you can download there currently is not the latest version, but I've already pushed it, so it should be there soon. And I'll be now working on updating the Strato.
Its got some problem in the new version. But all in all its a good vehicle. Its got the following problem: when I spawn it I hear a brake noise and the airplane nose is crash upwards or downwards
Forgive me if I'm salty but, I love how this gets featured and it's totally broken with the latest update.
Moderators (or whoever chooses the features mods) be like "It's broken, but it's still a great mod" (which I agree with, BTW)
Hm, a couple of beams breaking is not a "totally broken" mod, but I understand your complaint. Sorry I missed this discussion and I've just seen it now. Anyway, update! Please let me know if something doesn't work as expected and I'll be very happy to try and sort it out. 2.0 changelog -Lots and lots of jbeam changes and tweaks. Overall better stability, less jiggle. Tweaked lift and drag values, slightly better gliding capabilities now. -Added new liveries with many new color possibilities. -Implemented the new custom input system. You can now configure your controllers however you want. Includes mapping for the keyboard and Xbox controllers by default. I suggest you remove the now huge controls UI app, or completely hide the UI with Alt+U. -Implemented a more accurate engine (motor) simulation, using BeamNG's engine code base. -Added 4 variation presets in the vehicle selector. New thumbnail images, and more complete vehicle selector information. -Added a stall warning realistically based on Angle of Attack. Can be added or removed in the Parts configuration menu. It is Not equipped in the aerobatics variations by default. -Minor model and texture improvements. (e.g. internal tubes are now white). -Added belly-cam. -A lot of other minor stuff. Note: The 2 scenarios that used to be included have been removed. Mainly because they were broken (custom vehicle inputs don't work). I might release them again in the future (or not) as separate downloads. But on top of that, I intend to make new air races, maybe using inflated pylons? (https://goo.gl/Do20Kd)
All of the control surfaces invert and break on their axis when the plane is spawned. So it's currently unusable for me.
Aw That's not happening to me, could you post a screenshot? Did you have the older version installed before the update? Or is the first time you download the mod? --- Post updated --- Ok, so if you experience problems like what @lizard95 described, delete any older zip of this mod you might have in your Documents/BeamNG.drive/mods folder. You should only have one zip called "StratoHMX1.05.zip". If you have other "Strato" or "aerobatic" zips, delete them. That should fix it. Thanks to @lizard95 for pointing it out.
Yes! By default, it comes with a preset if you are using an Xbox controller, if you want to change it, or use any other controller/joystick/etc, just go to the game's Controls menu, inside the "Vehicle Specific" section.
And then what? I don't see any control labeled "Rudder" or similar and "Throttle" controls the horizontal stabilizer. Am I supposed to create bindings for the "F", "H", "T" and "G" functions? I did that but it seems to have no effect... Sorry, maybe I'm missing something obvious here....
