Okay I just got down watching some videos on BeamNG on youtube, and I thought that to make this game every more realistic. I recently played a game named Spin Tires, (I'm sure most of you have heard about it) and it has SO much graphics to it, in terms of terrain detail graphics, for example when your driving one of their vehicles, lets say in the mud, your vehicle will react to the mud when driven on, like the mud will deform and the vehicle's tire will pick up the mud and the tires will show the mud that has attached from the ground, to the tire (see image below, that's the best one I could find). Another detail that should be added to the game/simulator is grass detail, (i.g) when driving the vehicle over grassy areas on the terrain, the grass should react as well as the mud, meaning the grass should fold down when driven over, and bushes, flowers etc etc. Also the trees should take a big part into this new detailed version on soft body physics.

But those are some things that I think that should be added, and I know that it takes time to add these details, but it will make this game way more fun! What does anyone else think? Do you think that it would make the simulator better in graphics terms?

    Please use the search bar.

We have a ton of threads like this: BUT, PLEASE, DON'T POST IN THEM NOW

To save you reading, it is a valid suggestion, but the physics engine we already have is using enough CPU power to throttle down a i7, there may be a way to do it without killing your computer, but that's not any time soon.

Thanks, and sorry. An i7 is big though.

And where do you get this information? I, for one, can run a CPU stress test without my CPU throttling and it's a mere laptop CPU(i7 3740qm). If your i7 CPU is throttling you have either poor airflow in your case, a poor cooler, or poorly applied thermal paste or any combination thereof.

Anyway, the system used in spintires is not very CPU demanding. It's not very accurate mind you, but it does look nice. We'll see what the devs decide to do with the terrain system as time goes on though.

Yeah I agree with what you said at the end. Are you running from a Mac?

What are you guys talking about?
I'm not running a Mac and I never even mentioned overheating

In BeamNG, if you have more cars than CPU cores you get a noticeable slow down, for an i7 that's 4 cars, imagine if you had to do all the other physics- for walls/fences/signs as well as the terrain deformation.
BeamNG is a physics system dedicated to realistic soft body physics.
Spin Tires uses rigid body vehicles, even the tries are rigid body, because soft body physics are very costly.

There may be an easy "cheap" way to do it, but I doubt it will look any good like that; what I'm thinking is modifying the terrain under the slipping wheels, but what comes up now is that the wheels aren't one given radius and they're not uniform like rigid body ones.

I don't know, I'd love to have this is, but the devs have other things to focus on right now, and the number of threads talking about the same thing is really annoying.

I'm sorry about all this, I just wanted to know if you were running from a Mac or windows. And I know that its a soft body physics, and I just wanted to give my thoughts on this, but it would make viewers/players like this sim even more.
