Re: The Stig competition Then do next time only keyboard. I only have a Keyboard a steering wheel too but BNG dont like this one :/
Re: The Stig competition This was done in the stable version released today - as others have said there have been some tire changes which may make laps faster. 1:36.8 I used an XBOX360 controller. I'd advise the OP to endorse a different vehicle for this challenge: the Sunburst Sport Manual, since it's fairly similar to some of the real life "Reasonably Priced Car" models.
Re: The Stig competition Yes, i will do that in the next competition. Today i will announce the winner at 9 AM in my local country time, which is Indonesia. Is anyone agree? Thank you Mitch for making this thread popular - - - Updated - - - The competition now is close. Thanks for your participation guys I will announce the winner later. Thanks
Re: The Stig competition Im late .-. Congrats for the winner ^^ - - - Updated - - - Now, i will open the competition again for the position of "The White Stig" Here are the rules : - You must use the stock version of 200BX (Manual) - You must record the video between 20-60 FPS (Optional) - Because White Stig was a pro, you must use ONLY keyboard. - Don't take a shortcut - Post a video with it Post the video until 6 th May 2015
Re: The Stig competition I think it's unfair to limit competitors to a keyboard only. A controller can be used by more skilled players, and is the only way some can play. Also I think you should be more strict on lap timing, and not allow even crossing the white lines at all in the center and corners. As well touching the grass should not be allowed.
Re: The Stig competition That's too strict i guess. Well, i need to inform that eveyone can accept the rules.
Re: The Stig competition Sorry for the crap quality. If I was to record it with Shadowplay it would be 300MB, wich would take my an hour to upload. About 1.50 About nine minutes left, will get it onto here when it's done --edit-- It's done!
Re: The Stig competition You make these keyboard rules like it's much more challenging with this input controller, which it is. Not because it resembles a higher amount of realism, not because the potential is higher, but because the controllability is limited. Because of this limitation (handycap) you have to act as a PWM controller, as the keyboard buttons are binary (on/off). It's not intuitive and it's not a good way to control something that requires far more precition. There are many people that want to use a wheel because it makes sense. There's only so much you can do with 4 on/off buttons, whereas with a wheel you have several thousands of input positions. It doesn't make sense to host a hot lap competition where the restriction is "keyboard only". There is a reason I never use it, when you own a wheel you understand this. I'm not here to tell you what you ought to do, this is your thread. But I don't see the logic to "keyboard being more challenging", instead it's like running with static wood feet. It is harder to do, but only because of it's limiting factors. You aren't able to do with a keyboard what you can with a wheel, it's impossible.
Re: The Stig competition I have keyboard skills no problem for me but with steeringwheel it would be better :/ but ok I try my best - - - Updated - - - 1:48.65 Video is coming http://youtu.be/ZbPpdOcwVno
Re: The Stig competition After i see a lot of opinions and a few people want to use controller or steering wheel, i will allow the whole competitior to use every controller that they want to use. Please, I need a lot of participation to make this competition alive. I really appreciated your opinion and help. Thanks.
Re: The Stig competition Thx a lot for that I will retry my time now - - - Updated - - - Ok got a new time 1.46.11 Video is uploading http://youtu.be/Ni9V5lKUzbc
Re: The Stig competition Sounds good. I have been planning to do a run myself, using a wheel of course. I just need to find some time.
Re: The Stig competition I'll post an official run tomorrow. But I got a 1:53.12 with an Xbox 360 controller.
Re: The Stig competition How do you do that smooth steering with the controller? When i play it's twitchy to the extreme :/ I try to just move it a millimeter but still it's very twitchy. Is there some setting that i've missed? Something that can be done in a config file or are you just that good?
Re: The Stig competition Would be useful with download link in first post. Link here. BTW., is manual transmission allowed? (Custom version) Looks like the same engine, but then again I think not all parts are available in the new part editor.
Re: The Stig competition There is a new challenge post 105. If I were Kenect I would've updated the first post so there isn't any confusion. ------------------------------------ Also does anybody know how to upload videos on an iPad not using the YouTube app? I have a school iPad and can't download YouTube because it's rated +17. I don't know how it got deleted. (I had it for the previous challenge.) I can't contribute to the contest unless someone helps me.
Re: The Stig competition Sorry guys, The new rules are already updated in the first page. Sorry for making everyone confuse :| Please join this competition ^.^
