They misspelled the names on purpose, as they weren't sure if Toyota would be ok with their name being used in a manga/anime glorifying illegal street racing. But Toyota told them it was cool, so after the second stage (I'm pretty sure, but don't quote me on that) they started spelling "Toyota" and "Trueno" properly.

Another fun fact: That applies to different brands too. Notice how in the first stage, Iketani's polo says NISNO instead of Nissan. And probably a few others, but I can't remember off the top of my head.
