This is my first thread so if i managed to f*ck anything up than i'm sorry. I've been with this game for a long long time and I haven't ever really had a problem with anything until now... You see my favorite thing about this game is not the crashes; nor the realism. As a Motocross suspension mechanic and amateur engine builder, I like using the various mods people have created to tune the vanilla vehicles into some fast, great handling, bad ass cars. This has always been at conflict with the physics of the game but they're have always been work-arounds, ie. Super radiators, Invincible engine blocks, etc. Although now I try to make any car over 1300 hp and all of the race transmissions slip right away and overheat... Is there any way to fix this? can I alter the values of the transmissions to change the torque at which they begin to slip? Any help is appreciated guys, Thanks!
yes you can, automatic transmission? If so then increase torque converter diameter and lockup clutch torque. If manual, then delete anything mentioning clutchTorque, the game should sort it out as it comes. Also make sure that the clutch is fully at 0% when using it, load up the pedals app to help you find out.
Odd, transmissions don't have temperature simulation, only clutch has, but it should be calculated automatically. Anyway, there is wiki page about clutch and parameters you can change, it might be that you need to set one of those that should not be changed to get it to grip, I have had such situations with really lot of power/torque/mass: https://wiki.beamng.com/FrictionClutch
Clutch calculations might not take stuff like nitrous into account IIRC, but you can create a new clutch as a selectable part in which you can set stuff like clutch torque manually
I think it is also rather conservative with the clutch torque because it can get unstable at high torque.
I didn't really get any issues at all with clutch slip untill I started playing with manual clutch adjustments on a 2100hp V10 drag car
