This might seem like a stupid question, but I can't seem to find the answer on the wiki or anywhere else: What are triangles even for? I'm not talking about polygons, but the triangles made from nodes. I'm guessing they are used for drag and aerodynamics, in that case should you only put them on the exterior of a car?

Can you be a little more specific? Because, nodes collide as well. Are triangles for self-collision then?

Nodes only collide on terrain. Nodes are a single point in 3d space, 2 cars come near each other and the nodes arent going to hit each other are they?
They'll just pop through the gaps.
Coltris define the actual surface of the car to fill in the gaps.

    Hijacking this thread.

What does define the aerodynamics though? Is it the 3d model itself or is there also some coding involved?

you can set drag coeffiecients on the coltris which allows for crude aerodynamics.

The 3d model stands for absolutely nothing in terms of physics simulation in this game.
