Mind if i make a video showcasing this map when it gets released? It looks very professionally made, by the way. It was about time we had another Australian map.
Usually a day or two, at most. It's rare unless you submit it the day before a holiday weekend that you'd wait more than 36 hours, unless it's broken in some way. It is best that everyone must submit for approval. I am glad this is one forum that has much less junk on it's repository than many many others out there. Mods are awesome, but weeding through heaps and heaps of junky flat-map-shoe-box-panorama's is not exactly fun, to find the good ones like this map above *points up*. There has to be some standards! --As always will be waiting with almost-baited-breath to try this one out. Should be fun, my Tail of The Dragon went over real real well so this should too!
If you have time, and if it's within the scope of this tutorial, adding some steps for setting up AI paths seems like it would be useful for map makers.
Once I decide to start modding again this will be a nice place to improve my skills, thanks for the guide cleared up a few things I wasn't that great at.
mitch do you think you could up load the blender files ive bean so eger to try and put it in to assetto corsa i know its a different game but it would be so fun to have there too
Hey. I tried to use the site http://elevation.fsdf.org.au/ to get the depth data, but no matter what I do, I only have a beige background instead of the terrain height. The only place where it works is Australia...
Well, thats because its made by the government of Australia so only has height info for it. Not sure why it has a full map but the height info only applies to Australia.
That sucks... Oh well, atleast I found out how to take height data from Google Maps so don't need to use that site anymore
Not sure if you wish to explore this, but that claims to have 1m resolution data and is US agency, so if that area is interest, maybe something can be had from there (I haven't tested, just had the link): https://catalog.data.gov/dataset/us...adable-data-collection-from-the-national-map- Goodies are here, but you need to use first link to go to map, so you can figure out where exactly these are from: https://prd-tnm.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html?prefix=StagedProducts/Elevation/1m/IMG/
Tried but of these links, but none of the have the part of Utah I need... It just says "No datasets found for "Utah""
Shame, but also I have no idea how to get IMG file to open with anything either, why they just can't stick with a bmp or png
This seems pretty useful but its weird, all the heightmap data is just in a large list and you have to go through it and hopefully download the right area, when you do find a height map it tends to have large black areas as well.
Hello! Could you record a detailed video and put it on YouTube how you did it? To know exactly what and where to click.
