I wouldn't really consider RWD as a whole obsolete. I mainly like it because it's more durable than FWD, and easier to work on. And you have weight distribution on your side when accelerating. And because drifting. But I won't deny that I cling to obsolescence. Solid rear axles (ftw), V8s, Carburetors, etc. Everything is so damn complicated nowadays. Not made to last at all.
Even if it was rear wheel drive i doubt you would be doing any drifting in it, the engine choices will most likely be 2liter diesel eco models. Out of interest how would you feel if it was a hybrid with the rear wheels being electric and the front ones being fuel powered then with a computer doing power management.
So it's got like...2 methods or propulsion...working on 2 different pairs of wheels at the same time. wut. That's pretty cool I guess. I don't have anything against it.
Just done some research. The BMW I8 is gas in the back and electric in the front, so when running on electricity it is front wheel drive, when using fuel only it is rear wheel drive and when using both it is 4wd. With computers figuring everything out. Its actually mid engined as well with the electric motor in the front.
Didn't I just say above that it was cool? It's complicated, but it's cool enough to justify it. You still have the hump down the middle that is one of the main drawbacks of RWD, though. Also, what would you call the layout in that car? FF/RR?
It looks like that is where they are storing batteries to keep the center of gravity low, if it weren't for that it wouldn't be needed. I imagine the fwd bmw from earlier will still have alight hump for exhaust pipes etc unless they have the interior floor elevated. I am interested in if BMW will make any all electric cars where the motors are in the wheels and then they can fill the lower section of the boot and engine bay as well as under the seats with batteries. You would get a front and rear boot as well as a super low center of gravity.
The Mercury LN7 Sport Coupe. There was also a Ford version known as the EXP. It actually look nice rather than the Mercury version. The grill, the boring bumpers and the matte thing around the headlamps is what makes the Mercury ugly.
I'd drive the hell out of a Ford EXP. I love them so much. Their styling is just quirky enough to gain intrest, without drawing too much attention to itself. It completely outweighs the fact that, underneath, it's an Escort GT.
Isn't the matte thing around the headlights and the cool bumpers on the EXP just because it's a different trim level/price class? That EXP seems to be like a GTI/RS/whatever version of a regular EXP, whereas the Mercury never had the go-faster-model...? Most EXP pics on Google have those lame bumpers? They look a bit like a Foxbody Mustang except worse? Also, it reminds me a lot of a Monza, but again, worse... Btw, I like how on most of the promo pics the rear suspension on these cars looks completely collapsed... Like, what the hell is up with this? Lmao I want to know all about this.. . And I can't find any info on it? I know they handle well, but neutral handling on a FWD car? That sounds like black magic. To get back to that FWD BMW: Building a few FWD cars is a good way for them to still sell cars to people who don't care enough for RWD to pay extra for it(even though BMWs aren't much higher priced than comeptitors) or to put up with it in the winter. The thing that bothers me way more is that they're gonna make the M-cars AWD :/
...And its no longer even, slightly, decent looking. Good job fiat thats a great facelift :| (imported from here)
Hope you are doing okay. I have learned that in life such as the Boy who Cried Wolf, people who are screwed up in their thinking, most of the time do not know they are screwed up in their thinking, and are quiet possibly unable to adjust. My cousin is deaf, *dumb*, and blind. She will never know she is deaf, *dumb*, and blind. Thus an f-bomb will not correct the cornering. Trying to help you out as you were there for me in my youth here.
What? Doing okay? What the hell are you on about? I don't recall ever mentioning anything about not being okay to you. I guess I understand your point, but what's all of this about? I don't remember ever being there for you in your "youth". I complimented the reference your signature shortly after I joined, but other than that I haven't made much contact with you. I'm thoroughly confused.
