If you do make a map, please don't make this one with these reference images. I plan to make it, as it is a location very close to me. One might say I reserve this idea. --- Post updated --- Wouldn't you like to know, pal.
Here's an update to that post. The badly maintained roads will make for a challenging driving experience. - Feat. Bike wheel. Some of the potholes that you will see are really quite substantial. Hit it at a good enough speed, and you'll throw all sorts of suspension components. In some places, you can also see quite a few botched repair jobs. Still a bit bumpy on those. Literal grass growing in the road. Roads are a bit wet, too. No drainage. Possible spawnpoints. Got to have some beauty spots, too. <3 Some signage and grotty roads. Since that's about all the files I can upload, I'll leave this here. I plan to make this as a mod, however I would need help in doing so. If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be super.
This might be helpful, if you wanna make the area as close to the area you've selected as possible, though I don't believe lidar will pick up on small potholes, you should be able to get the big stuff down. https://www.beamng.com/threads/tutorial-level-building-with-lidar.39370/
I don't need LiDAR, it seems. I have the exact heightmap of the area, as the Blender addon that allowed me to capture it worked like a dream. I'm still pottering around, trying to summon the energy to undertake this task.
Hi, I'm doing a PhD on how Driving Anxiety impacts driver skill, particular hazard perception and prediction. Although I don't have any experience in game design, a UK map would be amazing to create scenarios to test hazard perception using BeamNG and a driving simulator
Would be a great location for some rally scenarios. I live in the South West too, so I can attest to the crappiness of the rural roads (and the roads in general). I think a decent mix of A and B roads, with a motorway section and a suburban area with a bunch of roundabouts would make for an excellent map. I agree that a city would be a bit much, maybe as a separate map.
