I recently heard that the government in the UK may do a £6000 scrappage scheme, meaning you could get such cars as a BRAND NEW Dacia Sandero for £995!
Why can't it be in my country? We're now shopping for a new car and we could do a scrappage scheme above the €4k value of our current car. On a less selfish note, six grand seems a bit overkill.
I wouldn't mind getting our '07 Corolla off the road if the money's good. And for the normal folk on the street, and even the more practically-minded enthusiast, a cheap new car is more important than more older cars on the street.
Yeah, the US already tried that one. Ended in disaster. There STILL aren't really any nice used cars under $3000.
