The 8th gen Galant and Legnum VR4. Its powered by a twin turbo V6 with 276 hp and some models came with active yaw control that was used in the Lancer Evo at the time. I saw one for sale at a car yard once it even had one of those white half seat covers on the seats. It was a dam nice car I hope the owner who brought it kept it stock.
That is not in any way a pretty car, and if it looks like a muscle car it looks like one that got hit by a shrink ray... selectively. The proportions are just not right.
the 2nd and 3rd gen firebird trans am/formula with the ws6 package they handled well and had decent prforemance for the time and are still affordable, a clean second gen goes for about 8-12 grand and a mint third gen for 5-10 grand and projects are even cheaper
Sorry to sound inappropriate but, that ass though. But I mean the Silvia has to start somewhere right?
I've driven a 3rd Gen Firebird and i can say that the handling is fun with lot's of torque to play around with, especially if your going to trackday, it can smoke some European Merc's.
If I didn't live in Connecticut I would pick one up with a 305 and a 5 speed stick when I get my license but because I live where it snows in the winter I am stuck with a jeep,a truck or a Subaru or some fwd car that's not crap in the snow
A FWD car that i know isn't crap in snow probably would be a 1975-77 Cadillac Eldorado, especially one's with patina everywhere.
You can wreck anything driving in the snow. Once I realized that, I was relieved of my fears of snow driving and bought a 2006 Ford Mustang with a 5-speed. I highly recommend manual for snow driving. You can control power better. First time it snowed this winter I promptly put it in a mild ditch. Oh well, at least I didn't hurt my car any.
I'm actually daily driving a 1996 Mustang GT with a 5 speed. I was a bit scared at first not gonna lie, but it's actually not bad once you get used to it. And you're definitely right about manual being easier to control power.
Hmm... I think the 1st Gen 4Runner's (Also my favorite car), is mishandled, and therefore underrated. They are pretty, for 3 of their model years they came with a 2.7L turbocharged i4, capable off road, comfortable on the road, has the coveted (among 4Runner People) tailgate rather than a hatch, SR5, seats 5, can be used as a pickup, comes with a roll cage in the bed, and you almost can't kill them. Of course most people who use them don't value them. They cut 'em up drop a big engine into them, jack 'em a foot into the air and ignore the OBVIOUS signs of frame rust, due to mishandled post-offroad care (Gotta clean the mud out people, it'll rot your truck in half if it sets too long), and wind up snapping them in half. Then they go hunt down another one to kill, and again and again. Truly upsets me.
The skoda fabia, the last gen and current gen, both drive nice, good engines and ergonomics are good for a small car. I drove the brand new fabia combiwith the 1.4 diesel with manual of my friend, and it feels even better than the last gen. It is quiet, not slow and handles okay for such a small car with a high cog.
