People without licenses were happy to have any means of transportation besides walking and/or cycling, I doubt they cared about safety at all. It's not like they took every corner at 50 mph.

Also, the current small vehicle trend is these plastic buckets which are also unsafe af, so I dont see the point arguing about Robins being ''unsafe'',¨
OF COURSE A SMALL LIGHTWEIGHT VEHICLE IS GOING TO CRASH WORSE THAN A CAR
here is a picture of a crashed one

Yes, these are plastic, My friend had one of these and the roof cracked because of vibration from his subwoofer

Small cars were never meant to be safe in a crash at the start.

More to the point, Reliant is not like Volvo who are very conscious about occupant safety, not every car manufacturer was back then, even up until the 00's until more strict regulations that were put in place later on in the years.

    Grammar nazi...
    Yay....

    /s

Just because I'm English doesn't mean I can write perfectly as well, keep in mind I'm half-American, not full-American.
    OT:
You can say the same for kei cars. They're so damn small I'm sure they can kill people way easier in an crash than something like an coupe utility.

I don't see what about it seems so unsafe from the video (other than the rolling which was caused only by the modifications)

They speak English in America too. That's basic primary school grammar, anyone over 8 years old should have a basic understanding of.

    OT:

Also yeah, nothing unsafe about a reliant 3 wheeler, the idea they tip over is just a joke that has been ongoing for years, in reality they are no more dangerous than a trike. Probably even less so considering the beefier frame and interior to weigh it down to the road.

I wouldn't necessarily agree. My mk2 Clio has a 4 star ncap. The Clio 3 was the first car of it's class to receive 5 stars.

I don't want to derail anything any further here... but... you guys seem to be arguing against his opinion to tell him that he is wrong about 3 wheeled cars... This thread is about Unpopular Car Opinions... Clearly his is unpopular... so I don't see the point in arguing it.

    >implies I'm not living in the US, even though I am.

    Also f**k auto-correct TBH.
    OT:
Somebody who atleast gets an idea of what I'm saying. Plus, the last cars I would get is an kei car, 3-wheeler, or an micro-car.

Never implied that you didn't live in the US. Either way its irrelevant if you are English and live in the US as they speak English there anyway...

I can barely speak Portuguese, but that doesn't mean I'm an English perfectionist.

Yeah, that's why I said "half-American" in the first place. The other half is genetically Portuguese.
    OT:
I personally think snorkels should be more common for off-road vehicles. It's pretty useful for beds of water... except if it's an deep amount of it.

The speed capability of a car is far less important than how it feels to drive the car. Not sure if that's an unpopular opinion but it might be among certain groups (teens probably).

Oh, well you can see where I got confused..

    OT:

Would be cool to see well made steel wheels like you'd get on some cars prior to the 80s make a come back, not the usual cheap and instantly rusty black steelies they all have now.

There's a billion threads about cars on this forum, I don't even check which one I'm posting into to be honest.

Also, this might be an opinion thread, but there are some facts that simply cannot be dismissed.
Didn't these start to appear in your area recently?
I've seen them on a bunch of cars when winter started last year.

They're much nicer to look at than the boring black steelies.

Nope never seen any like that before, It may just be because people here don't switch tyres for winter/summer so wouldn't ever be going out to buy a second set of wheels for the occasion.

But yeah thats the type of thing I'm talking about, anything with some nice touch of design and paint instead of just plastic trims on a badly painted steelie.
