We could pick from the available scenarios (like the rallycross races in ECU) and from the few quick play stages available. Maybe 1 dirt, 1 asphalt and 2 mixed surfaces? As for officiating members I agree that we won't likely need them for the opening championship, as we won't have a "rulebook" as such, and having the winners officiating for the next championship seems like an interesting option
Oh I got an idea: You divide it into leagues of people with 60 FPS, 50 FPS, 40 FPS, 30 FPS, 20 FPS, and below 10 FPS normally for every competitor.
There's really no reason to segment the racing based on FPS. Timing is only affected if your FPS is below 20, therefore someone getting 144 FPS and someone getting 40 FPS will physically be able to complete the lap in the same time.
here is what i think maybe a typical class c rally car would look like class: c hp: 204bhp weight: 3250 lbs abs: no all wheel drive: yes modifications: -stage one turbocharger -rally suspension -2.4l I6 engine -gutted interior -performance radiator and oil cooler -race 6-speed manual transmission -rollcage -rally tires also maybe make roll cages mandatory for all rally cars competing, and you can only remove extra parts but not bumpers, doors, etc.
but if it limited to say 3 entries per week (just edit/reply to the orig posted time) without limiting practice runs would allow for improvement of time w/o worry of infractions of limitations. This in theory would eliminate a mad rush at the end of the week for entries.
Im sorry but this idea is completely absurd. You can go making 20 different categories based on criteria such as FPS. Are you going to sort everybody lap times out. Same goes for assists. If you need them use them, but if you can drive with out them good for you. No, the best way to set a car is to allow people to customize and tune it the way they want. Whether it is a set config or controlled by someone by posting out a pc. file. Like it has already been said. I think we just need to go head first and start everything as soon as possible. Its irritating seeing days/weeks of planning and then all of it ends up getting thrown into the wind just because there were so many set rules and other similiar problems.
Alright, we believe we're doing these three events for the first championship: -Port Rally (Jungle Rock Island) -3 laps of Rallycross Perimeter (Industrial Site) -Downhill Rally (Utah) The first two are already quick races, and the third one will be made available for download as a quick race soon. You will be able to use any vanilla car configured in any way you like (using vanilla parts and tuning options). We should have a group set up on the forum sometime soon here and then we can officially begin. Tuning and other types of events will be coming in the future so stick around, and keep an eye on this thread for when we get the group set up.
Everyone who wants to participate, join the group here. The first championship will be posted soon has been posted.
Sorry for the bump, but I don't know if it would be proper for me to join if I'm not sure if I'm actually going to participate in a race.
