Overall I am liking a lot of what I see regarding the new car. Some stuff that I like: You have done something original with the design, which to those who haven't tried, is harder than you may think. The new jbeam structure looks pretty neat, I am looking forward to driving it. It kinda reminds me of the old Lotus chassis that have an X shaped frame. The suspension models look pretty realistic too. If someone told me that was a model of the underside of basically any real hatchback, I wouldn't question it. I am very happy to see the improvements to the electrics systems. I look forward to seeing what the extendability looks like. There are some things that confuse me a little The front springs look a little narrow guage compared to the rears. Given its a front heavy car I would expect them to look a little more burly. The rear pillars. To me the windows in them look like they would compromise the vehicles structural strength. I've no doubt it could be done irl by using some very expensive high grade materials, but that doesn't sound like a very French solution to me With that said, Citroen have done concave rear windows for the sake of it, so maybe its not as far fetched as I think it is?
Probably between 80hp and 350hp depending on the model. (based on real cars in the segment) [excluding EV models]
Thinking about it, this could be a fusion of the Charmand 1304B and the 2014 Covet from the Concept List. One was an old French hatchback, and the other was a modern Japanese hatchback.
Love the new vehicle, it's fun to see something completely new in the game. I also loved the in depth blog post about it's development cycle, I'd love to see more like that from different parts of the team in the future. Looks like it also answered the question about what came first: the new AWD system or the vehicle, and it looks like the AWD was being worked on well before this car. It's going to be awesome to drive this vehicle that is the culmination of all the years of learning, research, and development that has gone into this game. Can't wait to smash it with the Patriot T series.
Will the engines finally have a bit more of inertia? Street engines in real life have quite heavy flywheels and race engines have very light flywheels, in BeamNG all the engines have very low inertia values (you can see at the files), so they loose fuel mileage and they are quite annoying to drive. One thing I'd like to see with the new car is an improvement on engine thermals. New engines have the lowest friction possible and relatively high inertia, they also pollute very little and their fuel mileage has improved a lot, to achieve this in BeamNG you have to lower friction (obiously) and increase burnEfficiency, but then if the car is spawned with a cold engine, it takes a whole lot of time for it to reach operating temperature, either coolant or oil (considering you are street driving at legal speeds) @Nadeox1 @Diamondback
Okay, so let's talk about the base model. It won't have much in the way of speed (999 cc I3), so its performance mainly comes down to the handling. Since it is a modern hatchback, it will necessarily handle like either a sharp knife or a wet sponge. Considering it's French, I have a feeling it will be the latter
No worries, windows in rear pillars would not compromise strength. Main structure is hidden behind outer shell and there are lots on space for the inner structure.
I will admit, the devs are wonderful at listening to the community. However, the devs don't just give people exclusively what they want.
honestly the new car looks great and it seems it may have more customization then the 800 series, though the only gripe i have is that it has four doors as i think we have enough modern passenger cars as it is but besides that looks like it will like a blast to drive.
What leads me to think that there are fake exhaust tips is the fact that on the sportier models, the tips look too 'plasticky' (Is it how you spell it?). Also there are no tips on the actual exhaust :
Seeing as though the Bluebuck got multiple body styles there is a possibility the Vivace will get a three-door version, and if not you can be assured someone will make a mod that adds one.
