You might actually see a coast now in the skybox like with the derby arena revamp. Thinking about that, an Italy sized texas map would be cool but lets not get off topic.
On the same page, hopefully Industrial Site and Port get proper backdrops, and the unused land on Industrial Site, and especially the massive chunk of unused land on Port get used.
I would love an Italy sized, or possibly even bigger Texas map. Heck, after the devs get done with this whole map remastering stuff. I think they should totally add a Texas map to BeamNG.
Uh, no offense, but I'm pretty sure people like Nathan24TM don't want guns in the game. Also, just curious. How is a Texas Barstow and Moonhawk any different from a regular Barstow and Moonhawk?
I highly doubt the devs would make a map as big as Italy again. It is a good map but considering the time taken to develop it and the optimisation problems they got, I believe they won't try another time to create such a big map. Tbh 4000x4000 (ECUSA size ?) is the best compromise between optimisation and fun
Oh *sighs* I remember the days I was flying Flight Sim2004 an Flight SimX. Just had the whoie globe to roam.. Of course some regions you had to patch with addons to get more details but still, the whole globe ? I don't think that has ever been done again.
But the vehicle dynamics are not very realistic, espesially in a stall or spin. --- Post updated --- No, it is brake vectoring across open diffs and electronic transfer cases are being tested, both of them are not "electronic diffs". However, @Diamondback is going to implement active diffs and torque vectoring in the future.
Google Earth has an in-built flight simulator. On topic: maybe the reason we haven't seen the remastered Port and Industrial Site is because they wanted to get Small Island finished and release all 3 simultaneously?
Tin foil hat time. The map teased in the rally video and the showreel video isn't just a rework of small island like East Coast and Utah, its an entirely new map. I can't find a stretch of road on current small island that resembles the one in the rally video, and the map featured in the showreel video has a scale that just feels too big to be the current small island. No roads or structures are visible in the shot, which is very difficult to do in current small island. I also can't find a similar location in current small island. The timeline makes sense too. B25 mitch finished West Coast back in 2017, and three years for a new map is totally reasonable. They have been using the assets and techniques used in the new map to also update the older maps along the way. It will include elements from Small island, port, and industrial (which will all be depreciated), and will probably still be set in Texas. It will probably take inspiration from an oil town on the Texas gulf coast. Small island has been essentially untouched since release, save for a small rework of the textures a long time ago, so they are most likely unhappy with the state of the map. The roads, layout and general feel of the island are very similar to Dry Rock Island, which was depreciated in favor of a new map, Jungle Rock Island. Why would the devs spend time updating a 7 year old map when they can create an entirely new one and combine three maps into one? There's my thoughts on it. I'm still expecting a rework of current small island, but hoping for a brand new map.
Cool =) Do you think Jungle Rock Island will still be around, or do you think that will end up dying just Small Island USA is?
I doubt JRI will go away, that already a re-imagined Dry Rock Island. It might get a makeover like East Coast did, but I think that it will stick around.
We have clearly seen pictures of remasters for Port, Industrial Site, Small Island, and Derby Arenas back in 2018, so those maps are here to stay. Also removing maps would break content and such.
All I want in life is a re-worked inline 6 for the D-15. The current textures remind me of the good ol' Rigs of Rods days. And maybe better textures for the underside of the Miramar? And for god's sake the V8 engines in the D-15 are too damn modern. Give me Toilet-Bowl Injection and pushrods for my 80's pickup, por favor. Make JRI fun to drive on. I've personally never been much of a fan of JRI. Charmander Volitile VR6, pl0x. Chameleon Variance hybrid maybe? ICE, electric, and CVT transmissions are all in-game. Combine and make a hybrid. Why not? What'll actually happen: Re-worked SI-USA (thank god finally), inline engines only for the Chamber of Villains, I cry myself to sleep at the lack of extra official Campaigns... or community-created campaigns...
