As long as we're talking about trailers, I think that a mobile car crusher would be something really nice to have in the game:
Good meme. I think the problem is is that people want their ideas to be seen and discussed, and that doesn't happen much over in the ideas and suggestions forum. This thread gets far more traffic and posts and gets interactions from the devs so people think this is a good place to discuss their ideas. Plus, "update speculation" has become very vague and people interpret it as "I want this, therefore it is speculation". This is as much a containment thread as it is a discussion thread. OT I don't think we're on track to see a campaign in 2020. I would imagine the campaign relies on the revamped UI that was teased all those years(!) ago, and since we haven't seen any of that yet, I bet it's still a ways away. Unless it all comes out of the blue, I suspect we will get the updated UI first, to test it for completion and functionality, followed by the campaign update. We get about three to four major updates a year and right now it looks like the next update will be centered on the vivace, driving dynamics, and lighting. That leaves room for two major updates and I just don't see it happening this year. If we had some progress updates on the new UI, maybe we could get it's been complete radio silence in that department. Things get delayed and pushed back, I remember a video of TDev at a conference a while ago saying we would get 1.0 in 2018 or 2019, and we all know how that went. Valve has Valve™ time and Beamng has Soon™ time.
And that is why i love both. They never release rushed garbage. Yes, artifact wasn't a good attempt at making people trust them again. OT: why not put in a vote that asks if people think if career mode would be coming this year or not.
Perhaps Nadeox will have more time to work on content creation; his true passion for the game! *speculates*
The thing is, the only subforums with general threads are general off topic, automotive off topic, and computer off topic. There is no "General BeamNG discussion" thread, but this is the largest on topic thread, bar the niche ones like community screenshts, so that's what it's turned into. No. No votes. We need the UI; we need FAR better AI for racing, traffic, and police; finish the revamped maps; misc. career mode systems like achievements, economy, teleporting between maps; etc... That's a lot of stuff, and that's basically just the "career mode light" necessities, not vehicle content, the tire model, etc...
I wonder in the future that we will see more classic versions of some of the modern cars in BeamNG. say like a late '90s early 2000's version of the ETK 800 series (E46 3 Series) or a 80's version of the K series (Mercedes-Benz SL R107 with a bit of I series thrown in). Mind you we could do with modern versions of some classic and modern classic cars.
I didn't realize he said "more classic" and I thought he meant classic versions of existing cars, so I edited my post.
What I had in mind was a single car bumper pull open trailer such as the one below: We have the twin axle "Large Box Utility Trailer," but that is far from a car trailer considering it struggles to fit a Covet.
Definitely would be fun to do some Top Gear shenanigans with that. Like pull a V6 Pessima while going down those curves beside the Tourist Center in Utah. Also try not to make the car you have in back fall off.
Navigation system with screen sizes depending on trim level. (really hoping for this one) Digital gauge cluster, we've seen a pretty good one on the eSBR. Possibly an i5 (sound has already been leaked). Adding to that digital gauge cluster, an optional regular analog one on lower trim levels. New wheels, obviously. The new AWD system recently shown off. Last but not least, a possible electric variant.
Surprised we haven't got one of these yet, honestly. Though I suppose it's not very useful without some way of keeping cars attached to it (other than joining the nodes directly).
