I wonder if the wiki page which is going to be replaced soon® will be somehow tied to the UI update. Maybe it could be included in the game, similar to how the repository is accessible in the game? Since one of the big aspects of the wiki is the extensive list and descriptions of official content, specifically vehicles, parts, maps, props, etc, it would make sense for there to be some relationship between those pages on the wiki and the in game UI for vehicle selection, part selection (especially wheels) etc.
I think I should list Niches that is currently not filled by a vehicle in game (maybe mod ideas). Spoiler: Niche Front engine V12 GT car: Something like the BMW 850,Ferrari 550 etc. Japanese Kei van: say like a Suzuki Carry American landyacht: either Front engine FWD like the Cadillac Eldorado or RWD like the Coupe Deville. There is a mod that fills that niche but that would be more like the Grand Marshal type. Fire Truck: either American or European/Asian. European or Asian van. Coupe Utility: something Australian or American RWD V8 and I6, Could also go for something like a BRAT. Crossover SUV: This is a big gap to fill considering this is a popular (hated by car people because they aren't a car nor are they a true offroader) type of vehicle IRL. there is a mod or two that fills this niche. full-size luxury sedan: this could be electric like a Tesla Model S, there is a mod (outdated) that does fill this niche. The Grand Marshall don't count. Feel free to reply to this if there is a Niche that hasn't been filled.
I know this was sort of a controversial subject that has been talked about on this thread before, but one major thing that is missing from the roster is a prewar vehicle, with the oldest vehicle in the game currently being the 1953 Burnside Special. It would introduce another key point of car culture that is currently not represented in-game: hot rods. It would also be a great candidate for the upcoming Career Mode, with all sorts of great project-car potential, and it could be used for many things, such as drag racing, dirt racing, track, etc. The devs could also take it a step further and make it British, like the Austin 7 or Ford Popular/Prefect. It would kill 2 birds with one stone, being the first prewar car and British car. To sum it up, I think a prewar car would be a very awesome addition to Beam, as it would bring something new to Beam and have great Career Mode potential.
There's a ton of niches missing. And a fair bit of countries missing, though one less now. And a fair bit of engine blocks missing, though two less now. Therefore what we need most is a quad turbo W16 British pre-war GT car with a centered driver seat and 66" paddle tires.
I’m not against a pre-war car. But it needs to be American to properly fill the niche. If we’re talking British, the best years would be well into the 70’s. Something cheap, light, simple and slow. Like a Marina or an Allegro. A British pre-war car is a bit cliche IMO, and really not all that good for customisation either as there really wasn’t a ‘hotrod’ scene in the UK. OT: Wonder if the Vivace will get some sort of BTCC inspired configuration.
To this day, this post (in my opinion) is still one of the most ironic, funny, awesome, and constructive posts on this entire thread
I've more or less got a thread going for this exact purpose: https://www.beamng.com/threads/whic...or-a-second-round-of-promised-releases.66236/ I guess I should probably take my listing for a '2005-2010 French or Swedish Four-Door Hatchback' off of my personal list - the Vivace is probably as close as we're ever going to get.
I’m not saying there wasn’t any at all. Just that there was much less of a hotrod scene here than anywhere else, and was only inspired by those from America anyway. It was generally reserved for those who either owned a garage or had a fair amount of money. There really wasn’t a proper ‘tuning scene’ in the UK until the 90’s, with magazines like Max Power.
Well schools have recently been closed in Spain for 2 weeks because of coronavirus, will be nice to have an update actually JK, it is surprising for me that noone is talking about the Covet, I think it's pretty outdated because of its handling, it has a lot of torque steering and when you turn the steering wheel it just wants to go back to center...
As for speculations on the game, I am not sure I am going through that video Nadeox 'trolled' us with a few days ago, who knows could mean many different things in terms of what he meant by it, I wonder if its something to do with reflections or something else bigger and larger at work here...
Today I bought AKG headphones. $150 for a studio monitor headphones with 5 to 40,000 hz frequency isn't bad at all. I can hear more detail in almost everything, even BeamNG's buttons sound nicer. Then the engine noises are amazing. I never knew what I've been missing out on until now. Edit: oops wrong thread. (intended to post to here: https://www.beamng.com/threads/your-personal-micro-blog-s.11826/page-112)
I don't think the devs would intentionally drop the update soon because of the coronavirus. They might end up correlating, but they'll drop it when it's ready, not when people are home.
I believe according to the update scheme that appeared a few times in this thread the update is likely to come in early April.
