Update Speculation thread

Alright, I've got nothing else to do so here we go. This update definitely has the potential to be the best update in long time, possibly even better than 0.17. However, I want to talk about all the possibilities. First is the absolute minimum that we could see given what has been shown. Next is the best case scenario. And then last is a middle of the road "most likely" scenario. Massive post ahead, I apologize in advance.

Vehicles*:
Absolute Minimum:

• Cherrier Vivace released, but it only has a limited variety of parts and configurations, possibly even unfinished.
  
• Gavril D-Series Charro and Pre-Facelift, with very few other parts besides these.
  
• Gavril Roamer LWB and few other new parts.
  
• Few/No new parts for other vehicles.

Best Case Scenario:

• Cherrier Vivace with a massive variety of configurations and parts
• Gavril D-Series Charro and Pre-Facelift, with a ton of new parts and variants
• Gavril Roamer LWB with a ton of new parts and variants.
  
• H-Series also receives a ton of new parts and new bodystyles (Bus, Passenger Van, etc)
• Many other vehicles receive tons of new parts and configurations

Most Likely:

• Cherrier Vivace with a good variety of configurations and parts
• Gavril D-Series Charro and Pre-Facelift, with a decent amount of new parts and variants
• Gavril Roamer LWB with a decent amount of new parts and variants.
• H-Series also receives some new parts and possibly new bodystyles
• Some other vehicles receive some new parts and configurations

Levels**:
Absolute Minimum:

• Small Island remastered, but it does not include many changes and new areas besides new foliage and retextured abandoned buildings.
  
• No other levels get improved.

Best Case Scenario

• Small Island, Industrial Site, and Port all receive substantial improvements that make them so good they can compete with ECA, Utah, WCA, and Italy.
  
• Jungle Rock Island receives a really impressive upgrade that puts it on par with other existing maps and finally reflects its East Asian setting instead of Hawaii

Most Likely:

• Small Island, Industrial Site, and Port all receive substantial improvements that significantly improve them from their current state.
  
• Jungle Rock Island does not receive an upgrade, but it is likely improved in the next update.

Engine/Lighting Improvements:
Absolute Minimum:

• Lighting is slightly improved, but not by much.
  
• Little to no improvements to night driving.
  
• Performance is slightly improved, but not by much.

Best Case Scenario:

• Lighting is significantly improved
• Significantly improved night driving and working streetlamps/illuminated buildings
  
• Significantly improved performance.

Most Likely:

• Lighting is moderately improved.
  
• Improved night driving but no working streetlamps/illuminated buildings
• Moderately improved performance.

Gameplay***:
Absolute Minimum:

• Police Chase AI not improved
• No new scenarios/quickraces/campaigns
• No progress on Career Mode

Best Case Scenario:

• Significantly improved Police Chase AI that is both difficult and fun
  
• Numerous new scenarios/quickraces/campaigns
• Some sort of a basic form of Career Mode

Most Likely:

• Somewhat improved Police Chase AI that at least resolves the main issues with the system
• A few new scenarios/quickraces/campaigns
• No progress on Career Mode

Conclusion:
Hopefully the update winds up somewhere between "most likely" and "best case scenario". We will probably see the update in the next week or two, especially given the wording of recent announcements. I suspect we may see some early trailer releases this week, possibly the Vivace trailer and maybe a Level Improvements March 2020 video before an update release later in the week/next week. In regards to the latter, we really haven't heard anything on the level front whatsoever, but I would assume that the level team has been quite busy at work so we'll probably see something.

*We really haven't heard much on the H-Series but it is up for remastering
**There really isn't much information on the topic of level improvements as of now besides a few teasers.
***The devs mentioned police chase improvements for this update, although they haven't said anything since. On the topic of career mode, some new files appeared in the game files recently regarding dealership and campaign logic, possibly related to career mode.

 

That's detailed. Now I am super excited for the new update!

 

This speculation is so vague it's questionable if it was even worth posting it lol. All I gathered was that the the most likely scenario is the middle ground between the worst and the best case (duh).

god, can you shut up? everybody here has been polite with their suggestions, nobody is demanding anything. At the end of the day the devs don't have to listen to us.

What is wrong with actually suggesting changes to a game?

No, suggestions are fine. If you haven't seen the annoying whiny comments, then Im guessing you haven't been following this thread.

Im still yet to see a single positive (non-backhanded) comment relating to it.

 

Why would we need that?

As long as the complaints are based on real issues, it can be 100% complaints for me.

 

An actual human spent hours making that & you're getting it for free.

Best way to make the devs lose interest. Complain about everything they make.

I'll take that, although hard to really notice that all when its blanketed in a sea of "This is wrong" "That is wrong"

 

Most of the comments are not "this is wrong" though, just "XYZ further additions would compliment what has already been done". The comments that I do see saying "this is wrong" are just people wanting the new grille to be larger, which isn't as negative as you seem to be interpreting it to be. The game is in early access, things missing are to be expected and since the D-Series is getting worked on we may as well be focusing on it right now.

 

We all paid for the game when we first got it so technically it isn't free.

 

Be friendly you are on the internet, toxic behavior will not be tolerated! Apart from that, I don't even remember what I originally paid for beam, it must've been 30 bucks but considering I have 1500+ well spent hours in this magnificent game... I wouldn't mind if the devs made paid dlc to further support development... If they need the extra cash money. Personally I don't mind the d series not having chrome mirror the cars aren't copies of irl cars just inspired they're allowed to stray from the og inspirations... I can't wait for the vivace tho
