Various ordinary ones, starting with a cheap one with hubcaps, then a somewhat sporty one with a 2.0 turbo I4, a really sporty one with a 2.5 I5, and some efficiency-optimized electric ones. Plus a cop version, a custom one, a race one and a rally one.
Another carabinieri is a safe bet. Add to the growing collection in Beam. As usual a generic track car. Personally I hope for a widebody kit like in this one, I love the look of wide body kits in general and this one especially. A hillclimb/time attack car seems like a safe bet, but those have all been ignored so it's questionable there. I hope those cars get some love, the sequential transmission hillclimb cars are my favorite track cars in game. A fleet config is a possibility. Small affordable 4 door compact makes a good delivery and/or rental car. [No pic] At least one rally car is a safe bet, though it is possible we will get a standard one and a more extreme one. I doubt we will, but it's possible. I remember a dev refered to the hot hatch config by name but I forgot what it was... Vivace S?.. [Refer to the sporty looking configs we've already seen] Another off-road car à la off road Sunburst & Baja Piccobello would be great to see (I'd love to see them on more cars overall) [No pic]
lots of cars still have hubcaps... base model imprezas are a good common example in US market. in EU market, lots of these hatchback type cars use them, especially ones that have an i3 option.
If I had to guess, I'd say that's a render by this artist. But that might be an interesting thing to have for the Vivace, in the same way that the homebrew Off-Road config is interesting to have to for the Sunburst. "Safari-Style/Battlecar" builds have been gaining momentum in the customizing world lately, and can you imagine the torque an electric Vivace could bring to bear over rocks?
In the 1985 D-series announcement, it is mentioned that 'due to limitations in the vehicle selector, some configs are going to be replaced by the 1985 version'. This brings up the question, in the new ui, will they add a button or some quick way to switch between facelift and non-facelift designs?
I'm still not sure why we have so many Carabinieri vehicles yet not a single Carabinieri station, yet the Polizia di Stato have a whopping four stations and only one vehicle. On that note, why not have a Polizia di Stato Vivace EV to finally give them a practical modern car car alongside a Carabinieri variant of the sport model? On the whole topic of police cars, we might see more police related content in general. The devs mentioned improving the police chase AI sometime after 0.18, and they are also redoing the police lighting, which means the police seem to be receiving a bit more attention than usual (and the fact that the police lighting video is called "noHintsHere.mp4" makes me even more suspicious). The fact that the developers mentioned "more parts" as a major part of the next update, possibly means that we might finally see interior police equipment on various cars alongside numerous new police units. I'm obviously getting way ahead of myself but I can dream, right? (Also I believe that a fix for automatic police vehicle spawning needs to happen. We get all sorts of police cars on the wrong maps in the US, like BCPD cars in Firwood and FPD cars in Belasco, and the Carabinieri Hopper, Police 200BX and Police Sunburst/Sunburst RS never spawn at all because of a half implemented Japanese traffic region) Continuing on the topic of additional parts and configurations, if I remember correctly Nadeox1 makes a lot of them. I could be wrong though. Since he's supposedly now focused on content creation rather than forum moderation, I would not be surprised if we see new configurations/parts released at a much faster rate. This update may have a lot of them because the recent Twitter/Instagram posts seem to have emphasized new parts. I've already talked about levels a lot previously, and since we don't have much to go off of as of now I'll keep it short. We're probably going to see the Small Island remaster. The description of the map calls it an island "off the east coast of the USA", which means that the Outer Banks theory could possibly be true. Nonetheless, Small Island is a smaller map, so I suspect there will be other remasters alongside it, hopefully at least Industrial Site and Port. Industrial Site is still very undeveloped and generic with a decent amount of empty space to put new stuff, and Port has so little content and so much empty space that I hope to see utilized (The entire mainland). Both maps will likely also get backgrounds like Derby Arenas did. I remember Occam's Razor mentioning that the devs "don't have to" keep all these maps set in their original settings (Texas), so we might see other locations featured (like the aforementioned Outer Banks theme for Small Island). Industrial Site and Port hopefully will receive major changes to differentiate them further from each other. Lastly, it would be interesting if Industrial Site or Port was turned into a French map to go alongside the Vivace, but that's very unlikely. On the topic of Jungle Rock Island, I suspect it won't be remastered until 0.20 (I wouldn't be surprised if 0.20 was a Japan themed update that featured a remastered JRI set in Japan, alongside much needed upgrades/additional content to various Ibishu and Hirochi cars, alongside RHD versions of all Japanese cars that do not yet have them. This seems even more likely given how many of the cars that need remakes more than anything else are Ibishus). Regarding lighting, it's very obvious that they're tweaking and improving the system from 0.18, and putting a lot of effort into the Day/Night cycle. 0.18's remade Utah included illumination for various Utah buildings and areas at night, and it would be amazing if we got working streetlamps and buildings lighting up at night to finally make night driving not feel like driving during a blackout. I feel like the update is coming very soon given many recent developer posts, like Diamondback saying that he doesn't have enough time to add all the ESC fixes in the next update and the Twitter/Instagram posts saying the update was coming soon and even listing some major focuses of the update (which wouldn't be possible unless it was close to completion). I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out this week. Due to the fact that the two most recent cars (Bluebuck and Piccolina) got their trailers dropped a few days before the update, I wouldn't be surprised if the Vivace gets it's trailer released early as well, and for all I know we might see it sometime this week.
Two issues with that: As of now there's no evidence that there would be a RHD Vivace There is no UK map
There are quite a few configs that would be unique to a specific location that there currently isn't a map for.
Maybe there isn't more than the gendarmerie sunburst but it still isn't an excuse to not add any more content. New skins and configurations are always welcome even if there isn't a map for it.
I'd rather see the effort get put into content that makes more sense with the locations and gameplay that the game features rather than content that does not fit within that mold. The latter would just produce a ton of content that feels random and out of place. It's nothing personal against a British or French police car as mentioned earlier, if there were maps featuring each of those locations (and a RHD conversion for the British version), then I'd welcome them into the game with open arms, but as of now their inclusion would feel odd and out of place. On the topic of a British version, it would feel really off if it was still LHD.
