No one seems to mention this, the bolide already got new tires, these ones are more squared than the old ones.
Maybe they are talking about this being implemented: https://www.beamng.com/threads/micro-blog-s-2018-current.51722/#post-1097257
You guys need to think some more How is torque vectoring going to make it suddenly impossible to compete with any car from any era? We already said that tire thermals would only make tires worse, since right now, they are always peak grip... So none of that would give any meaningful advantage really
Ohhoh I like where this is going... The A. is pretty clear- we are talking about some improvements in terms of handling for cars. B. is less clear to me- why not use the steam version? It has to be a big change, also related to the user enjoyment of driving. So it's not just faster cars (I don't think faster=more fun to drive, definitely not to the point of not wanting to drive a slower car), it has to be cars that just drive better and perhaps more predictable or more accurately? No idea what exactly that means though.
Yeah could very well be. I don't really know what else could 'significantly' change handling for the better, other than more grippy tires. So could also be that we'll get an improved tire model in the next update, but I don't think that's very likely. Maybe they tweaked frame stiffness or suspension of several cars.
Maybe better FFB? But I don't know how good the current FFB is and if there is a lot of room for improvements.
Maybe its just the godly powers of the Wendover that makes all other cars slower out of pure fear and terror.
Current FFB is pretty good because it's not script it's simulated. So you really feel whats the car is doing
I don't think the tires are getting real changes, as for now they are in a quite satisfying state and the devs said several times that they are complex beasts and hard to improve. IMO they are working on improvements about aerodynamics, as it's universal to every car (as long as the race does not take place in space) and that the actual system is pretty old and can be improved in many ways (that could give the car better handling)
I know I'm basing this on nothing and it might be a stretch, but hear me out: The crooked steering wheel thing they teased a while ago makes it seem like they're making a quality of life update for keyboard and controller drivers, who can't get that much precision in their driving. The Auto-centering wheel would benefit those when a wheel gets bent and the car gets thrown out of alignment, so what if they're doing something similar for braking and accelerating? As in, a built-in traction control-esque setting, and an ABS-esque one, which would mean he'd get an advantage in challenges by not having wheel slip.
