Update Speculation thread

I think only 1 semi-recent update came on a Friday, 0.16, and that was one of the smaller major updates content-wise.

0.16 (May 3 2019) and 0.17 (Aug 16 2019) were both on a Friday

 

i'd expect some sort of teaser yesterday or wednesday if we were to get an update today

Possible but the devs might be on break by then, unless they have a system that autonomously releases updates.

 

I predict we'll get it the week after next. There is usually a week or so beforehand of heavy bugfixing which can be clearly seen on SteamDB, which has yet to have occurred. Given that this is also a larger update, there will likely be a trailer or two released before the update, and again we have yet to have see anything. Having it the week before Christmas week ensures enough time to get critical hotfixes done before the holidays, preventing having to make people to work over said holidays.

It is strange that the branch "qa_stable" has not been updated since 0.20
Usually it starts to be updated a few weeks before the update
Perhaps the developers have changed the way they approach updates

that'll be their prototype version which they try to finish off and have as few bugs as possible, like a trial run before releasing an update.

 

I see, probably more things to be fixed then, well i guess is big update content wise

 

They also did get mr crash just to do alot of jbeaming for the deadline.
