When the walking mode comes out, someone NEEDS to make a mod that adds the crash test dummy 3D model to it with animation
I just realized, if the Sadlad gets a stock-car variant, then that will be another feather in my prediction-skills cap. You probably don't remember, but I do. (Although the comment wasn't entirely serious. Mostly I didn't realize that Wendover was an actual town in Utah and thought it sounded like "win Dover", so I made a dumb joke out of it.) Please devs make it happen so I can look smart.
Maybe we'll get a unrealistic but physics based pedestrian first person view ? Imagine a simple invisible n/b structure with collisions and mass (I am not talking about a bipedal, but something more like a cheated basic floating box that keeps its stability with gyroscopes and things like that), allowing the player to get some physical feedback in his movements, for example a slight acceleration and deceleration effect, not being able to climb too steep terrain, having collisions with obstacles and cars, and imo the fun part would come when you get run over by traffic, fall from the top of a mountain or try to stay in the bed of a moving truck etc. Running, jumping and swimming would feel very satisfying with a good balance of "physics" and "control". Maybe that's too fancy but it is what I imagine when I think about a system "technically complex and different from other games", especially for BeamNG and it's unique physics engine. Anyway I am very excited for whatever "out of the car mechanic" the devs will come up with.
Id imagine thats is too complicated, an animation based system would achieve the same with better performance and movement and probably takes less dev time to make...
I'm quite certain it'll be something simple, such as MSC or teardown, where you have a camera at a fixed height above the ground, and maybe some walking sound effects.
A longitudinal V8 RWD conversion (probably SWB since it looks rather long and gen 3 NASCAR cars had 110" WB) would be such a massive project with nearly nothing left of the Wendover... That being said, we already are getting an AWD LeGran, so a drivetrain swap may not be completely out of the question. The rest of it is still a big project though. Since we are getting a 4x4 LeGran, we might end up with a RWD platform cousin to act as a 1980's Moonhawk. I don't expect this at all, but it is on the table. Pretty much all of this stock car speculation could apply to that too I guess.
the way I see it, a gen 3 stock car variant would be pretty similar in modification to the D series Prerunner or hopper crawler, though as jared seems to lead that team, and his expertise seems to be in offroad vehicles, it may not be entirely likely.
From some accidental leaks, like a picture of a wagon LeGran (not the mod but a different one) and something in the transfer case slot
Just found the lifted and rally springs and transfer case slot. Nice to see my favorite car is about to get some love
There's has been quite a bit of small little things along side the transfer case stuff that defiantly support the theory of LeGran refresh Split high beam and low beam like the Roamer/D-series Lights are now also separate from the fascia 3rd brake light is now removable
Maybe the LeGran will be getting separate fascias for sedan and wagon versions? Or a special offroad fascia? That would be pretty cool
Mmm, unsure... The car this would line up with in terms of powertrain and bodystyles would be the AMC Eagle, and it didn't really receive anything out of the ordinary
Uh... Early 2000`s intensifies All jokes aside looks like Wendover is being slowly modeled in blender, I think
