I think that once they get vulkan stable, there won't really be that much problems left.
It would not only be a serious endeavor, it would probably take a complete rewrite of the game's code. I also wish them the best of luck with it, even if it is a BeamNG.tech exclusive.
I don't think so, most of the code should work on linux, the problem was the game engine was only compatible with windows, but with Vulkan there won't be this problem.
Well, it is used for the driver training scenario, and removing it make impossible to complete the scenario.
Not to mention coolest game mode "random generating tracks" that also are on ETK map,
Remove the scenario. Problem solved.
the ETK map isn't going to be removed, it's likely going to get some sort of remaster/overhaul like the other maps have. I wouldn't be surprised if the highway expanded into a large high speed one which would be great to have
Yeah, one giant highway loop would be cool, since the map isn't really that intensive for people with lower end hardware. And the current stretch is not that long anyway..
It would be cool (but I doubt they would do it) if they expanded the map to be the size of Italy
i think it would be good if they added a minivan like the honda odyssey
*cough cough* https://www.beamng.com/resources/1995-ibishu-kashira-gen-2.8319/ *cough cough*
that isnt a mod that is added into the game
it still works
and why does that matter anyway
Dev vehicles tend to be higher quality than mods
OT: Do you guys think career mode will be released in 0.25? They’ve been promising it for a long time and with the longer update cycle in would make sense
it's not an unreasonable proposal, but I would have thought they would implement the redesigned UI throughout before implementing the groundwork for career mode.
two major features isn't unheard of...
I predict we get a Taxi Route thing similar to the Bus Routes already in game.
but for both the amount of time it would take to implement, and the amount of bugs it could potentially introduce, they likely wouldn't want to overload themselves.
i'm thinking the UI overhaul might also involve a rethink of the backend management of the UI, as it's currently pretty much run as a separate program, leading to general optimisation issues, and if they do something that drastic, it can't be expected to just work perfectly on every user's system the first time.
Taxi would likely be implemented as a test for career, as that would be more random and/or interactive, so that's possible...
That mod has been outdated and slightly broken for years now.
Yes, career mode would make sense, as it has most likely been worked on for like eight years. However, it probably would not be the like career mode we think it will be. It will most likely be unfinished, with better features coming in updates so far away, we cannot even speculate about them.
The UI is an outdated part of the game, and I desperately want it remastered, but it probably is not going to come out this update, if ever. The one shown in 2018 looks a little outdated by today's standards, and if I had a guess, the UI, if ever remastered, would not look like it.
