Yup I know , I remember, the discussion just turned back on the motorisation subject, so I placed my speculation on the table one more time :p
Even if in-game ETKs have mainfully I6 engines, there's a chance for the modern ones to have some kind of V8 when they'll get remastered. You may say that it doesn't mean anything : BMW basically put a V10 in a family sedan, and a V8 in its lil sister, but their "trademark" are their I6 engines. But on the other hand, we can also think about the fact that devs don't copy exactly cars when the create them, so it wouldn't surprise me if they broke the "ETK trademark" in order to avoid the comparaison between ETK and BMW.
(I mean, today ETK and BMW are really similar : a similar design, the same trademark for their engines, the same nationality, a name composed of three letters,... If devs want to make ETK more original, they'll probably slightly change those similaritites :))

Why not... If it's sold in Europe, that's possible...

Japanese midsizes of the time weren't the same for American and European markets.
Take the USDM vs the EUDM Honda Accord of the time, for example.

The Pessima clearly draws more from USDM designs- the grille is from a Mazda 626, and the greenhouse is pure Ford Taurus.

As much as I would like to see i6 in Pessima, I think we are looking at the wrong class of car. i6 is usual for sport cars (especially japanese and german) like Supra, Nissan 240Z and new 2023 Z, BMW M55/88, etc...

Pessima is more of Honda Accord, where the factory setting is max 2.0l i4 with dual overhead camshaft. For the racing, they have used v6 which is not that long as i6.

I may be mistaken as there will be probably some high performance customs that could have i6, but otherwise I think that i6 is for a japanese sport car, which theoretically could come somewhere in the future with SBR update (which I dont expect in the next 2 years).

    Hahaha! ;)
Tbh, yes, V-engines should sometime enter the ETK lineup, as long as we talk about V8s and V12s. My main concern is about the V6. For decades, the Inline-6 has been a strong trademark of German cars and since ETK is the BMW of the BeamNG lore, I think it should continue having Inline-6s instead of changing to V6s.
Besides, it's the Italians, the Americans and the Japanese the ones who trademarked the V6 (Lancia was actually the creator of the V6, the Americans have been using it since the mid-80s and the Japanese companies widely used V6s in the 80s/90s/00s).
With that being said, I also think that the Miramar should have an Inline-6 because Japanese cars in the 60s/70s used Inline-6s and, also, Gavril vehicles should keep the 4.1 Inline-6 instead of changing to a V6 because it's a good basic choice for cheap, simple and trouble-free transportation! Moreover, the Gavrils' engine bays are already large enough to fit the 4.1 Inline-6, so packaging problems have already been solved too! And let's not forget about the 80s/90s Bruckell vehicles, which use V6s! And here's how the Inline-6 has also become a trademark of Gavril vehicles!

Yes, ETK and BMW are similar but that's exactly the point: representation of real-life aspects mixed with just enough fictional items for no copyright infringement!
Come to think of it: that's exactly what happens with the other BeamNG brands as well and that's one of the main reasons why we car connoisseurs love it! ;)

Been going through like 50 pages to catch up, I think the introduction of a modern sports sedan is gonna introduce a new engine config V6TT.

And based off the new pessima images were hood pins ever a thing in-game before?
Also the introduction of centerlock wheels could possibly mean a GT3-esque SBR

I have just looked at the newest racing cars and the hood pins are new with this pessima. GT3, GT4, Cup Cars, BTCC, DTM, etc could be applied to many cars. I'm wondering how many new configs will be in the new update.
Maybe even some new event type as race like a precursor for a career. Or new additions to AI like 'race' mod.

I thought you were talking about the Pessima when you said V6TT lol. But yeah, it would, considering that the engines in a 7-Series are the turbo 3.0 I6, twin-turbo 4.4 V8, mild hybrid turbo 3.0 I6, and a twin-turbo 6.6 V12, it might make sense. At the same time, can we all admit we wanted the S-Series (which was essentially a 7-Series, except the manual option) to be official content at one point?

Hood pins were added to the Banger configs of the remastered LeGran and the all new Wendover, at the 0.22 Update!

I think it would be really interesting to see a Coupé body style for the Pessima, like the Honda Accord or Toyota Camry of that time. A wagon or a liftback is also possible I guess.

the s series is nowhere near official content quality. But it would be cool to see the devs make their own version of it.

That's exactly one of the models I want to see in the ETK lineup expansion! There are many technological features waiting on the line to be represented by a Segment-F European Luxury Sedan in the BeamNG lore!

That’s what I meant, the S-Series was an excellent mod, but at the same time terrible in terms of files and organization lol. It was obviously his very first car mod, but it was surprisingly good. The creator did make it onto the BeamNG Team after that, though, and as a vehicle designer, too :).

I think it's high unlikely that the Ibishu Pessima will receive an inline six, although it would be a very interesting thing. Sure, there were some cars with transverse mounted engines that came equipped with inline sixes from factory, but it was rare (I remember the Chevrolet Epica, the Volvo S80, the first generation Volvo XC60 and the Land Rover Freelander 2). What I think it may happen, if the devs want to do something really different, is a racing version with a modified chassis to fit a longitudinal mounted V6 engine, like the DTM versions of the Alfa Romeo 155 and the Opel Calibra.

That would be amazing, but only if the engine revs to 12,000 RPM like the Alfa :)

That would be great! Everyone loves a high-revving naturally aspirated engine, as well as the V6 Busso that originated the earlier engines used by Alfa when they competed in the DTM, although the PRV V6 used in the 1996 ITC season was also great. :)

Since you mentioned the Volvo models, can you imagine a Jargl brand with Sedans, Wagons and (why not?) SUVs having the build quality of a vault and being powered by transverse FWD (or longitudinal RWD) Turbocharged Inline-5s and Inline-6s? That would be great! But I guess Jargl is dead now, so...
The longitudinal V6 engine in the BeamTCC Pessima would be nice but (as proven by the 155 DTM) it would require a major redesign of the front end to make it lower. What we see here is mild in comparison.

Really? The humble PRV? That's very interesting!! ;)
Also, an Italian RWD Sport Sedan powered by a high revving V6 would also be really nice!! But I guess the Autobello name wouldn't be fit for such a car...

the new pessima always reminded me of a mix of a mazda 626 and an early 2000's nissan pulsar
edit: the pulsar is basically an almera
