Don't you think that being dripfed teasers once a week is enough? Especially with all this new content? If they release a new teaser at all before the next update, I will be really surprised.
Agree with that although I do think they'll release another teaser before the update. Last update, they pretty much revealed the entire update (excluding gridmap 2.0) in the week before it came. EDIT: Actually, the day before it came. They released a pigeon remaster and wigeon teaser as well as a PBR teaser on the same day.
Ford E250 basically has cartoony over the top fascia. I don't see the problem with that new Hseries fascia at all.
We already have remasters of 2 cars and another brand new car, as well as a fridge. Why do you also need mp on top of this??? It's already a huge update without it
There wouldn't be much point developing their own MP system for BeamNG, especially when there is BeamMP mod, which basically does the dev's work for them on that feature.
MP won't be a thing for a while, the devs currently work with high otimization to make the game playable on most systems, but a MP system would make it really heavy for the lower end pc's, maybe for this update we could take a look at the AMD FSR, which would possibly make the game even more stable on lower end PC's, bu tmy curisity is still at what is going to be the new game feature, I know tire thermals are off the table, but what else is likely to come?
I agree with the MP. It is definitely not a priority and I would expect it after 1.0. You definitely need first: - Optimised game - Finished all main features of the game (physics, etc...) - Something to do like career, events (races, drag, roleplay, chases etc..) I also think that the idea of the original MP made by beamNG team wouldn't mean just open servers, but actually importing events like various races in lobbies (similarly to wreckfest). I doubt thermals are also a priority currently. There are no endurance races in beamNG. Most of you probably drive the one vehicle for a minute on average before crashing. Also, thermals would be useful if there is also tire wear. The only reason I see thermals in the game right now is drag racing.
Yeah, I kinda feel like that, I usually do some endurance races, usually with something like the SBR4 on SPA (it can surprisingly take la rouge flat out), i like to see how much the fuel lasts and if I can manage the brake temps, and I know for know the tires in BeamNG are unrealistically Grippy, because of the lack of thermal and wear and because of their design, they are always in the optimal window and I'm sure people would complain if they were adjusted to be more real, but it is kind of the purpose of Beam. The sport tires are already grippier than they should be, but the Race tires are like WAY too grippy. But as I said, it is highly unlikely to come soon, maybe they will polish more the tire model before starting the work on thermals and wear, so as it is already off the table, it leaves me wondering what other feature it is still lacking that they would add. The engine simulation is quite good as it is, I don't see them reworking them for now, the vehicle sound have been reworked at least twice recently, we have better oil simulation now, PBR for better looks, the tire models have been reworked a bit recently, even the dimensions of almost all the car has been changed to be more realistic, I can put my finger on what is around the corner, what they would implement, I don't know enough about aero to know if Beam is realistic enough on this matter.
They took the traffic mod, hired the author, and had that mod added into the game after being re-worked. The same can be done with Beam-MP. The mod devs start working for beam, and the mod gets added into the game; worked to the standard of the game as did the traffic mod. I can definitely see it doubling the player count, and raising the sales of the game massively. It wouldn't hinder the development of the base game, since I would bet there would be a separate MP development/QA branch for such things. BeamMP devs would focus primarily on one thing, being MP unless they need them elsewhere. I see no reason to not do this when half the work has already been done, it would only provide benefits - to both parties, well three if you consider us - the consumers who have been wanting something like this officially for years.
I haven't been waiting for Multiplayer, it is a heavy game as it is, it would be a lot of work even if it already "half baked", and as I said, the devs prioritize the compatibility, it may come, but not soon, the cars take some time to load, making the crashes seen identical to both parties requires a LOT of fine tuning, especially considering latency and these kinds of things, the game is not ready for multiplayer yet, not even Beam MP itself is good as it is and it would raise the bar of the game minimum requirements by a significant margin. The traffic guy was hired because the AI in the game was really basic before him, all they coul do was chase or flee basically, and he did an extremely exceptional job to rework a feature that was already in the game.
I think the main reason they're holding off on implementing Multiplayer officially is the struggle that comes with officially operating and moderating it. when 2 or 3 forum members are just fiddling around as a mod, not making any money off it, there's no necessary expectation of quality or stability, but when it's considered part of the game's price, they would be expected to run servers for it and properly moderate the whole thing, which requires time and money to upkeep.
I really don't want multiplayer. I mean I want it because I know others will like it. But am worried they will make it Multiplayer only.
