So a crew cab, a tow truck bed, maybe a hopper, various little fixes, and who knows what else. "I shall ride eternal, shiny and chrome"
Hope (but don't think so) we getting a wheel lift! Just a hook on a rope to rip the bumper off is, there's no other word for it, idiotic.
I know, where the blue point is, but never seen this in real. I guess if you hook it to the chassis and start lifting, it would damage the bumper, radiator, etc.
kinda speculateing if I should install blender and turn the Roamer into a Gavril Minivan from like 2006.
Its harder than you think. If you don't have blender installed yet, you probably have little to no experience, and doing that sort of thing would take you forever. Just sayin, it's harder than it looks.
that's why I might consider other 3D modeling software, but if I get blender I will take the tutorials for it.
Blender cheat sheets are your friends. I think that there will be new sounds in next update and perhaps also ropables things. What is almost certain is that there will be fixes to powerline bugs, like CVT bug.
I like this wrecker body! Looks like an old-school A-frame setup, but isn't too out of place on a nineties truck either. Wrecker bodies sometimes outlast the trucks they were originally mounted to (and vice versa), so there's the possibility that this was removed from an older truck and mounted to the D-series. You are correct in stating that the setup we've uncovered at this point would be incapable of towing vehicles down the road. It would still be useful for recovering vehicles from ditches and such, but useless beyond that point. However, the tow truck shown in your post is equipped with a very modern setup where the wheel lift and boom are integrated. To illustrate just how recent, here is a patent filed in 2003 for this type of wrecker body. There were two setups in widespread use during the eighties and nineties: a small wheel lift entirely separate from the boom, and sling setups. My money is on the wheel lift because it would likely be easier to connect and feature fewer moving parts. Spoiler: Description of how a Sling-type Tow Truck works. Sling setups require connecting a towbar from the rear bumper of the truck to the frame or axle of the towed vehicle, while the end of the towbar is suspended from the boom by large rubber straps that rub up against the towed vehicle's bumper: This graphic is taken from a manual for Magna Tech Tow Slings, which you can examine here if you want to get a better idea of just how slings work.
I think that summer is beta time, by latest autumn, I based this on method that is close to reliability of reading tea leaves, by judging messages developers have wrote on boards But think about it, tdev writes about modder encouragement system, version numbers are increasing faster, there is something in this, I'm sure of it!
The next version will be 0.9 then... If we're getting terrain changes, then a new map would be likely included (Probably west coast) What I think we will get so far: Hopper (Confirmed) ABS Improvements(Confirmed) D-Series Crew Cab (Confirmed) D-Series Tow (Very Likely) West Coast USA (Likely) New Cop Lights (Very Likely) Improved Replay system (Very Likely) Sounds (Unlikely) Italy/Bluebuck/Wendover (No chance) Edit: Added more stuff.
The game has had ABS for an long time, they're just improving it: https://www.beamng.com/threads/micro-blog-s-2017.34617/#post-523194 What's up with the talk about the tow truck? Very likely? Is it something that I missed because i only know of the towing orbs being visible on the front of the cars and that's it.
Why not sound improvements? I would think that 0.9 would have sound improvements as that is quite big thing and having sounds in minor revision number for me would be less likely, also I doubt they would leave sounds for 1.0. But yeah, not much news or rumors about those have surfaced, mostly just some dev comments that they know they need to improve sounds and some random board rumour about sound guy joining dev team some time ago. tdev mentioned next update takes longer as they are improving base, I'm thinking base might include sounds, but it is probably just my wishful thinking. Has there been posts, which I have missed, that have given reason to believe sounds will not be in next update? I guess we know for sure at March.
Once again, 0.9 does not lead to 1.0, it goes to 0.10. We could see sounds in 0.10, 0.11, 0.12, or 0.1973 for all it matters.
Will be interesting to see if it does lead to 0.10, if needed, it will, I agree with that. Current sound system is not that bad once you get hang of it, mostly it lacks interior and exterior sample possibility as well as engine braking samples, but I guess some clever person could hack even those to work.
