A somewhat irrelevant question but also relevant at the same time: wouldn't be better if the official BeamNG videos were uploaded in a 2:1 ratio, reaching just next to the notch, and in qualities upper than 1080p? I mean, having a narrow visual shot is great for old cars because their era is represented better (especially with retro visual effects) but it seems out of place when presenting features, modern cars and new/renovated maps.
They don't look exactly the same because that would infringe on the OG automaker's rights. Also, we can admit that this pickup truck and the Roamer have similar front fascias? (Yes, I know it is from a mod. Sue me)
Well that's just not true. Design, maybe. Don't know if the Beam cars are actually strictly following safety regulations and such. It doesn't really matter if a simple rollover test would be fatal in Beam, but a real car wouldn't pass safety inspections with that. Then there's regulations for lights positioning, bumpers, crumple zones, etc. I don't think any of the default cars in Beam have usable headlights because most don't even point straight.
Oh no, I said something controversial on the forums, then receive a warning. I stand by what I said. It's ugly. The rest of the update is hype, though, let's not forget that. The devs do a fantastic job overall but come on y'all, that doesn't mean they're going to hit a homerun on every single thing, now does it? Case in point: the current UI. It's been clunky from the first day they implemented it. It freezes, it causes game crashes, it's slow... and I can't wait for something along the lines of the UI that was teased in 2016 to come. Please devs fix your UI. Also, don't be a fanboy. Things don't get fixed like that.
inb4 the devs license and add a fiat multipla out of spite bc one guy thought the facelifts were ugly
I have to admit, this is the least good looking Facelift of all so far. BUT it is a Van from early 2000. What do you expect? At some point i understand you, but at the other i have to see that the Devs are really busy to get a Game for us that is perfect. And there comes the twist: You cant satisfy everyone. So just take the H-Series how it is, and be happy about BeamNG! (Hype is real)
I would honestly rather have a terribly ugly disgusting but realistic fascia, than a really beautiful amazing but unrealistic one. Like the Tograc, it is (imo) really ugly but looks realistic for a modern French crossover so I'm fine with it.
Totally agrees. I really think that we have to wait and see the facelift on a classic config, without that riced widebody !
you arent the only one.. i love everything about the car, including the bodykit, its just sooo smoothhhh
a: what happened here a2: i figured out what happened here, honestly i really like the new van fascia and kit b: can we go back to speculating on what the new car is? i'm thinking it's a cool new cherrier ev shitbox thing or a 2010's pessima
this is kind of amazing pessima mk2 revamp pessima mk3 thing van remaster probably tons of wheels maybe even some moonhawk content
Is it possible its just some tuner/ricer grille? We have only seen one config, and there is no clue whether that represents the whole remaster. Yall are in a twist about a highly customised van that might not even look like any others. IMO we will probably see a more grounded, rugged look for some workhorses.
Well yeah, but so were most cars from 1980-2005ish. If they made it look not ugly it wouldn't be realistic. BTW, the reason most cars got ugly in 1980 was new US safety sanctions and regulations that meant all the old design standards basically didn't work. Then everyone thought sharp corners were "futuristic." In the 90's they started getting bulbous and bubbly like they had cancerous tumors growing on them. Kind of continued into the early 2000's until ford basically stole design cues from Aston Martin.
I also like it. It looks cartoonish because of the paintjob and the big wheels (and, to be honest, I believe the devs wanted the version they showed in the video to look a bit cartoonish), but I don't think the front end looks bad. And I can't wait to use this ground effects bodykit in the Dajiban inspired configuration I saved a while ago.
Rockstar has been adding cars near identical to their real world counterparts in GTA 5 lately and they are just fine. Not that I'd want a bunch of rebadges anyway, but I think as long as you don't include the companies likeness you'll be fine.
You're not alone! I really love it too! It has a certain early-2000s Pimp-my-Ride vibe on it, especially when combined with the other details we see in the teaser! Tbh, I can't find a single BeamNG car to be ugly, even if some of them have eccentric styling/design choices (the greenhouse design and the head-/taillights of the FCVs, the whole front fascia of the FCV Tograc, the head-/taillights and the wheels of the eSBR models and also the wheels of the FCV Tograc QE for example - personally, I like all of these details very, very much, they are full of character and charm)! Even bland cars like the Pigeon, the Pessima and the H-Series (which are bland by design, just like the eccentric cars are eccentric by design, at least in this game) have their own special charm! If anything, all this content and all these details show that the BeamNG Team has oodles of inspiration and they all want to make us happy by thanking us for showing our support to the game! So be cool ma dudes!
