I think if y’all are out of speculation you could perhaps be thinking of the feature that’s making the update take longer… if I recall correctly something big is coming with the update and I think there could be good speculation for that… or you could also just be patient and stop talking so much.
Yeah, i never understood why they remastered it WIP. It just was some new configs and some rework of the body. It just looks so outdated i mean look at the rear wheelwell its literally edgeshaped. A proper facelift to the legendary 1997 to 2010 crown vic is in need to.
The scope of the BeamNG project is growing faster than the actual game development and there won't be a 1.0 unless that changes. BeamNG is a great experiment with fun results but it's also a case study in how not to develop a game, or any software product for that matter That said, Minecraft has been around for longer and followed a similar anti-pattern of tech debt and scope creep, so there is a chance for some kind of success even if it isn't what we expect right now
i mean we haven't heard much about that aside from some subtle hints back in the tire model devblog if i recall but honestly knowing the beam team they could just drop it on us out of nowhere
The Grand Marshal has a lot of details in need of correction, not to mention that it also needs a content expansion. Also, a 1998-2005 (just sayin') Grand Marshal facelift would be really nice. I remember seeing a relative mod for the car a month or so ago and it had mirrors with turn signals built-in, like those of the facelifted Roamer! Such mirrors would look really nice on the facelifted Grand Marshal as well! P.S.: The 'CarPlus A11' Hubcaps the BCPD variant has look absolutely awful on it. They look too Asian for such a car! An 80s and newer American police car should have something like the classic small center caps!
And then there's the BCPD roamer which has the 4.5 and an open diff, whereas every other cop config gavril has the 5.5, beefier suspension, and an LSD in the rear with 3.73 gears.
The GM needs a new body if they do a 97-10 facelift. Something like The Shotty's GM facelift body would be perfect. But if they just use the current body for a facelift, well you get this thing:
Really? I thought the BCPD Roamer has the 5.5 V8 and not the 4.5 V8. It also uses the standard 3.55 diff ratio for the gas V8s and I think that this needs no changing. Only the Grand Marshal has the 3.73 ratio - I think the 3.55 would be good to the Grand Marshal as well, the 3.73 is a bit too low and it spins the rear wheels quite easily. But yes, I can confirm that the Roamer doesn't have an LSD in the rear axle and it also doesn't have the ESC, despite being a facelifted variant!
I do agree that the grand marshal could use a second part of the remaster. It didn’t seem to get as much content as other ones. The main complaint I have with it is the lack of factory hubcaps which doesn’t seem to make sense on the fleet config…
Its not even the amount of content that bothers me but the GM WIP Remaster was really lazy executed. The other vehicles got reworked properly in and out but the GMs only reworked thing was the now proper seperated body on frame and some minor jbeam tweaks. Nothing else was touched, neither the body nor the interior. I really hope it get some well deserved love soon too.
Can you elaborate further on why BeamNG is a case study in how not to develop a game, I haven't really followed the game all that closely since now and it seems to be an interesting subject.
good luck man. you're gonna need it That mod was actually really well done. The interior saw some upgrades (on facelift versions) and it could come out as an update and I wouldn't be dissappointed. It was actually really well made.
This is a horrible take. If anything, RoR was the "experiment", and BeamNG is the properly developed game. I kinda get where you're coming from with "great experiment with fun results", but how is it a "case study in how not to develop a game, or any software product for that matter"?
Probably talking about how the game has been in Alpha for an incredibly long time, and now it looks a bit dated with its previous-gen graphics and UI. Maybe they thought that the average "gaming" computer would be fast enough to allow for traffic or map deformation by this time, but now we have kinda dead feeling maps and traffic that kills FPS. Hopefully one day this game will be a lot more immersive. Maybe the lighting update from the map teaser will help with that.
Yes, it's been in alpha for a while and graphics suck, but surley it isn't a case study on how not to develop a game. That just seems...harsh to me, ngl. You might as well say the same thing about automation, and could have said the same for minecraft back in the day. I still think it's an awful take. Respectabley bold? Sure...but it's harsh. The devs have done a great job developing a truly revolutionary game- a driving sandbox with mind blowing physics and creative, unique, unlicensed, content.
