Update Speculation thread

I notice a lot of Russian users (some other languages happen too but Russian is the most common, though maybe I'm a bit biased haha) are following this forum by translating the page through Google Translate which breaks quote formatting as you can see. Maybe they think everyone else does the same and don't bother.

They tried to explain that it's not a new Pessima (they thought you said so because of a mistranslation of "2nd gen" probably) but a remaster of an existing Pessima.

my bet with the last trailer is a type II ambulance.
I'm pretty sure that is the main goal of the roof extension addition.

we can surely speculate on the traffic feature improvement. In the last update, devs added traffic light system to the ECUSA map.
Maybe will they add this in WCUSA in this update?

the transmission sound improvement (manual whine sound specifically) (and whole powertrain sound and mechanics improvement too)
The devs have been talking about improving this for a while now, and since 0.24 will be a huge update, a lot of "secondary" feature will be present in my opinion.
Also, the forum thread about power train has been completed with a lot of feedback.

 

Off topic but honestly the lights in ECUSA kinda annoy me. Cars just sit there in an extremely small town, waiting for no one. It might make sense with more traffic, but my computer can't run that. It would be great if we could choose an option in the traffic manager to ignore lights, stop signs or other traffic features. But I think with WCUSA it might make sense, but not if they put it on every corner in the downtown area. It might be realistic, but cars stopping every 50 metres for 30 second periods wont be good gameplay wise.

This is most pronounced on new cars such as etk 800 and yes, it is annoying. On older cars is not such a problem

 

Yep, i think it's because old cars have the wheels tucked in the body so they're a bit shielded

 

Almost 7am US eastern standard time (1pm in Gemany) and no final countdown, so I think we can say that the update isn’t coming today. Updates almost always released in the morning as far as I know.

 

Was anyone thinking the update would release today? In all honesty the update could not even come this month.

 

Here is an old chart (not mine, its @_Tanco's) that shows the release dates and times. It shows that the earliest time an update was released would be an hour ago, but there are many updates that came later. Just wait, I don't think the update will come today, but this can be a good resource for determining the time it comes out.

 

Well earlier in the thread some people we’re saying they thought the update would release today, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

And why should it release today? Youtubers only got it yesterday and giving all of them 1 day to make videos is unreasonable. Moreover they haven't unveiled the new car yet which must happen atleast 1 day before 0.24 goes live judging by how past cars got released

 

To be clear I personally never thought it would be released today, I was just saying that others thought lt would as they said so earlier in this thread.

I don't think they will use "ibishu tecnica" name because its used in mods

As I've stated earlier, it's wayyyy more likely to drop on a monday/tuesday so that the devs are active throughout the rest of the week to fix any bug that require immediate attention.

I was reading the tire physics changes, and at the end, it says to expect things to heat up quite a bit. Does anyone else think that this could mean we are getting tire heat and wear?
