i'm thinking it's more likely to be a huracan/f8 equivalent rather than some V12 hypercar, as such a thing would have a lot more use cases, and wouldn't be pushing the physics engine so hard with massive power levels and a super-advanced carbon fibre chassis. i'm thinking they might give it options of a V8 and V10, similar to what the 1st gen audi R8 had.
I really want the new Civetta model to have a V10 or a V12 because BeamNG features no such engines yet and because ok, we already have the 3.2 Twin-Turbo V8 in the Bolide. Yes, the 3.2 TT V8 in question is about 40 years old and there could certainly be a modern successor to it in this new Civetta model but the mere fact that it exists is enough on its own. There's another alternative as well, which is the successor of the 3.2 TT V8 appear in a smaller Civetta model.
im guessing we'll have a V6(?) for low trims (maybe with TT), a TT V8, and a V10, maybe a V12 for insanity's sake
Mid engine V8 to V12, most likely a 4-6L V10 or v8 specifically. Carbon Fiber or aluminum monocoque chassis. Double wishbone front and rear suspension, perhaps with Pushrod front suspension. high revving N/a motor with probably a ~8,000-9,000 redline, and a twin turbo setup for the highest trim levels, probably with a bit lower redline for the turbo cars. Carbon fiber or aluminum body panels. Active rear wing and front splitter, with -crossing my fingers- active diffuser and intake flaps to direct air over and around the car for lower drag (or higher downforce for cornering and braking) and better cooling. RWD setup on the lowest trim level with AWD on almost every other trim level. Perhaps a Targa top version? (Spyder?) A ton of trim levels and editions that get increasingly more absurd, ala Lamborghinis SVJ, STO, SC20, LP700-4, etc, featuring over the top -but functional- aero bits, weights reduction, power increases, liveries, bodywork and interior trim. Digital gauge cluster.
I guess it will have a racing configuration and an insane twin turbo version. I think it will also have a very extreme street-legal version (like the Ferrari 488 Pista and the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ).
A TT V6 would indeed be nice but I don't think it's the very first engine many people think of when they hear the word "Supercar". Traditionally, most of us think of V10s, V12s or, at least, V8s! Yeah, there's the Skyline R35 and the NSXs (and the Dino 296GT) but they're just some exceptions to the rule.
I see zero reason to add police cars for countries we don't have maps for. If they're going to make police versions they should be Italian or American (or maybe German or New Zealand).
We have the gendarmerie Sunburst, don't we? Besides, a Dubai police skin would be relatively easy to make
And very characteristic of a certain culture too! Also, about the Gendarmerie cars in BeamNG, they don't feature French number plates and they also don't feature the same Siren. Only the Sunburst Gendarmerie has the classic siren, the Vivace Gendarmerie does not have it.
The gendarmerie sunburst was added due to a terrorist attack in Paris iirc. Even then I feel like even the gendarmerie cars are out of place, and with how cluttered the selector already is, we really don't need police cars for locations that don't exist in game, so we really don't need a Dubai version, it'd be much better to have versions that would be useful on the maps we do have instead.
I believe it was added for saluting the victims of the Paris terrorist attack on 11/13/2015 but I'm not old enough in this game to know. Anyway. How do you explain the fact that we have Polizei versions of the modern ETKs without having a Germany map? The ETK DEC map doesn't count, police chases are not what it was designed for.
Well ETK DEC is still a map that actually exists in the game, regardless of its size. You can't say the same for France or Dubai. At least France has a reason to exist (due to the event), Dubai does not.
I think that BeamNG misses a V12 engine. We have a lot of V8 but really nothing above that. I dont think it is unrealistic too. V12 in real life only make sense in super sport cars and high end luxury cars. It is only for those, where the added cost and complexity usually can be justified. Leaving aside any reality considerations, from a gameplay standpoint, the game really lacks a V12 engine option. V12 for a long time have been considered the pinnacle of ICE cars and it feels honestly odd, that BeamNG - to date - does not have one. Adding a super car, certainly is the most realistic way of adding one to the game.
