Are we very sure that it is, in fact, Covet remaster? Of course, I would love to see it too, but I am wondering if it could be anything other than a Covet - maybe an addition, for example, to Vivace or Autobello brands?
I could do mental gymnastics to prove it is an ETK, but it seriously looks like a hatchback, a crazy one at that.
Probably not it, but, if this possible widebody Covet comes in the same update of that Civetta supercar, maybe, I don't know how they'd really be related, but, maybe something like the Covet, but modified and assisted by Civetta for a rally car, like the Daihatsu Charade De Tomaso 926R?
I can imagine a mid-engine Covet with a twin turbo version of the 2.7 V6 engine from the Pessima. Lots of fun to drive, I guess. And I know this is a bit of a stretch, but I can also imagine a twin-engined Covet, just like the Citroën 2CV Sahara.
I Think the devs cut that connections to make it more interesting, we were used to have 1 remaster car being somewhat connected to the new vehicle, but with the Bolide Remaster and the Bastion, we haven't got that connection anymore,I think they done this so our speculations start to be waaay off now.
The door curve and door trim are definitely Covet. Plus its been needing a remaster for a long time now
I think the Covet needs a remaster, but it wasn't needed now, there are older cars yet that could need the extra love like the 200bx, Moonhawk or even the Miramar (IYB managed to make some amazing contento for it this week tho)
mannnn, you devs and your no good, clue-less filled teasers.. or maybe that's why they call them teasers In all serious-ness looks good
Its the only vehicle (i think) that was included from the start which hasn't got a remaster. So yeah its definitly needed.
So, it seems most of us are on the same page when it comes to new teaser, Covet remaster. A question arises though, what kind of new content we may be getting with the new remaster? A 205 GTI like homologation special config that is mid engined, as well as group B config, which would be welcome addition. What else new though? Proper EUDM and JDM configs with engines fitting to the country/regional standards? Maybe even a superturbo config? It is a wishful thinking, but would be satisfying to see official twincharged vehicle in the game. Hillclimb config is also prolly on the cooking, maybe even potentially using group b homologation special as a base? Would certainly be a looker and go like hell
There's a possibility that the new mid-engined Covet is a street car, not a rally one, just like the Renault Clio V6, which is one of the coolest cars from its time.
Cliov6 is basically the successor to Renault 5 turbo, Peugeot 205 GTI and metro 6r4. My guess would be that covet is closer to being a homologated rally car than something like Clio V6 as there are stark production age differences and the fact that covet is closer to aforementioned trio in years produced than something like cv6
You're right. I didn't know that the 205 GTI and the MG Metro 6R4 had road versions, hahaha. Actually, they do, and they're really cool.
Group B homologation required 200 cars to be built, so there are street legal versions of the Lancia Delta S4 and Ford RS200 too.
Given the game's initial release only came with 5 cars (Covet, GM, D-Series, H-Series, Bolide) & thus far only 3 of them have been remastered, I think its fair enough that the Covet finally gets its turn. But I do agree that there are other cars a bit more desperate for a remaster. Namely the Moonhawk & Sunburst.
