Yeah i get that too when i use my phone to look at them lol. My monitor is getting old so id probably invest in a new one if i could relocate some money from the money pit in my garage :D
Luckily its easy to 'fix' the contrast in the settings, lower the lumen or middle grey and /or adjust the exposure in world editor :)

The 244 is also to powerful for 76-78, as I6s lost power too. The 76-78 should have the powerless and the 73-75 should have the current.

Thank god threads don't lock at high page numbers like in automation (I think?).

I wish we had a high output 244 I6 version with 190-200 hp, loosely based on the GM 250S that made fame here in Brazil powering the legendary Chevrolet Opala.

You are absolutely right, the current 160hp version of the 244CUI Inline-6 should be on the 73-75 prefacelift and the powerless on the 76-78 facelift. I just thought I'd be a bit nicer if the 244 gained some power for making itself a substitute for the V8s. But then again, when we think that all of the American manufacturers got stuck with engines that were designed without the primitive early pollution control equipment in mind and just forcefully fitted the equipment to them, that was the absolute wrong time period for such a move.
I'll edit my post then! ;)

Dunno about the Automation forums, I don't hang out in there because I don't play that game! :p

In terms of career mode, I wonder if there’ll be some sort of dynamic skin system in place to support multicolored body panels. For example, If you drive a black car and get into an accident, would you be able to go to a junkyard and pull replacement body panels from a white car?
I only have a very rudimentary understanding of how the game works, but to my knowledge this isn’t really possible. I can’t imagine the materials would be able to differ like that (e.g. a metallic fender and a matte hood). I guess we’ll just have to wait and see

Honestly, I doubt we'll get a sedan covet, but I'm pretty confident we'll see a wagon and/or 5 door body. It just seems like the best way to expand content without doing anything really crazy. Besides, modders will probably make a covet sedan within a month or two.

It is possible if for example your car is colorable by color 1 and the replacement part is color 2, then col 1 can be metallic and col 2 matte. The problem would be that it would need to dynamically modify the skin you have currently if you have any, to replace part of it. It could be done on another layer, but more than 2 layers with PBR can be laggy. It would be really cool though.

I hear ya, i feel ya! Not gonna post alot more since its the upd spec thread but heres after an adjustment. Havent looked at them using my phone or tv yet but here they err o_O Note that the shadows are highly depending on the overall balance so everything isnt as dark as it might look from certain views.

Maybe the devs are planning to extend or expand that system to support more colorable areas? I vaguely remember a screenshot of a Roamer with a multicolored interior around the time colorable parts showed up- maybe it’s more flexible than I thought.
The skin situation would probably pose a bigger challenge, tho. I’d guess that the UVs (forgive me if I’m using the wrong terminology) would have to be broken up by part somehow, but I have no idea how the game would physically edit the image file and save those changes. I’m guessing it verges on impossible.
They could do something that maps skin textures to individual parts instead of an entire car, with some lua or something that changes the skin for that specific part if you swap it out.
It seems unlikely though, I doubt they’re going to practically rewrite the skin system for that. Making skins would be 10x harder and you’d need 10x more images to make a complete livery, but it might allow for skins to work across multiple body styles.

UVs are broken up by part, there would have to be a system that edits each part individually, probably possible with LUA but idk how it would work with the parts selector and color picker, there could be a new UI section for it

This is also a problem with the majority of the existing skins in BeamNG as they don't support the ability to have an Old Paint version. Apart from the Grand Marshal Police livery and the standard Two Tone livery of the Gavril D-/H-Series/Roamer, no other livery supports this, which is dramatically limiting variety (say someone finds a race car with its race livery covered in rust or a rusted-out Covet 1.5 ZXi Special Edition/2.0 GTz Special Edition - with the respective graphics for each version - or a rusted-out fire service vehicle or a rusted-out T-Series with the Patriotic livery)!

About those UVs, anyone else noticed the D-series has a dirt texture on the windscreen?
Looks really good from the inside especially when the sun hits from the rear and it actually gives shadows on the inside of the windscreen. Now if it was slightly reflective too so that we would see the inside reflected somewhat would be a nice touch

Having in depth customization is a neat detail, but that effort could be put into much, much better things.

I wouldn't have noticed the slight dirt film had no one mentioned it.
The slight reflectivity of the glass panes would be great, although I guess it would be putting some strain on the CPU/GPU.
