Update Speculation thread

Can someone expain why we think this screenshot = facelift?
To me, it just looks like a new wide body configuration, the head lights look the same.
What am I missing?

 

The proportions are different, the lights have more detail, the light lens has more detail, the car is more rounded and not as boxy as the current bobet
Though, not a facelift, but who knows, we might get a blobby covet

 

Wouldn't be proportions just be explained by the wide body kit as that makes the car well, wider? Same goes for it being more rounded, the kit probably makes it more aerodynamic.
The fact that the lights has more details makes sense for a rework, not a face lift.

I definitely believe we are getting a rework, but I think we are all jumping to conclusions about a facelift a little too quick. Unless the actual lights are a different shape? But they don't seem to be.

The clear glass lenses of the turn signals were usually characteristic of facelifts of that time.

Now, let's talk about the Covet picture they shared on social media...do you guys think the remastered Covet will have two options of blinkers? The current one has amber ones, while the shared picture has white ones.

 

I think so. Maybe the blinkers is mounted at the bumper.

 

But they'd do more than just clear lights if it was a facelift, the Wendover and Legran both got entirely new fascias and bumpers and more for their facelifts

 

I believe it will because amber turn signals conform to the American laws while white/clear ones are for Europe. After all, a car like the Covet is very well fitting in the narrow European streets and the more restrained European everyday car market in general.
