Replying with “oH jUsT mUtE tHiS tHrEaD” is just as bad as date speculation because this isn’t speculation.
alright i speculate that the update will have a new covet with a 5 cylinder engine because it would match european and japanese engines of the time. Btw honda did make a 5 cylinder so its entirly posible for that to happen. (honda g series look it up)
if we get a japanese hatch with a 5 cylinder before we get a ETK quattro with a 5 cylinder i will cry... ..tears of joy cause that sounds flippin awesome
I believe that, in terms of packaging, the more rational choice for the mid-engined Covet would be a V6 because this type, shape and size of Rally Car usually had either a Turbocharged/Twincharged Inline-4 (Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, Lancia Delta S4) or a Twin-Turbocharged V6 (Austin Metro 6R4). Though that doesn't mean that the Inline-5 in such a car wouldn't be amazing! With the Inline-5 g-series (and the '92 Acura Vigor, plus the '91 Legend, with the 3.2 V6), you actually sparked a fire: right now in the BeamNG lore, there's no FWD car with a front-longitudinally mounted engine!
Exactly, all of this non sensical theory, suggestion for more stuff and just pure non sense is the reason why this thread should be locked by now.
generally locking this thread leads to more chaos as it overflows into other threads, and gets turned up to 11 since people equate lack of update speculation thread to update now
the covet will most likley get a v6 mid engine because one of the teasers shows the car with rear vents hinting towards a mid engine covet
The Metro is a V6... The vehicle has the same basic idea as what the teasers show being done with the Covet so yeah it's a similar concept.
I'm getting the vibes that development on BeamNG has ceased, and we can all finally go home and leave this social experiment once and for all Also, why is everybody saying the new Covet is inspired by the 6R4? Isn't it equally inspired by the Peugeot T16?
And the covet look also like a R5 Turbo or the extreme version of it, R5 Maxi Turbo and these car have a I4 with turbo ... Plus there are a lot a engine use during the Group B, so devs can stay classic with I4, I5, V6 or can be crazy with V8, a rotor engine even if you think outsite real life a engine from the Pigeon
The Covet could go either way as far as i4 vs V6 is concerned. The Metro and the infamous Bring a Trailer mid engined gen 3 Civic both had a V6, while the Renault and Peugoet had i4s.
The covet has also only been shown as a sketch before but is now modeled and apparently in the game, so i dont think i ope this thread is a social experience
The wide rear fenders, just for symmetry of looks, must be the same on both sides, so mounting a Twin-Turbocharged V6 longitudinally, with the intercoolers hiding behind the fenders, just like in the Bolide 320 GTT/320 GTR versions, can justify this.
