Seems like some code to do with a vehicle. Not sure what the "Pyrotechnic charge" line has to do with the rest of the code, I'm not a programmer.
From what i understand this part loads a bunch of other "controllers", basically codes files made specifically to do what they say. It's probably for the new civetta.
Too bad Diamondback censored the sensors in his code. This will surely be something that some people on this thread will censure.
Looks like a pyro fuse, some newer Audis and Lamborghinis have a fuse that blows whenever airbags deploy, cutting power to certain systems to reduce a risk of fire or shock. I believe it also disables the engine. Be interesting to see this implemented in game.
crazy that more than one person works at beamng! its almost like one person does the designing, the other mdoes modeling, the other texturing and so foth man what a crazy idea
It reminds me of 2010 mercedes sls. The car famously had gullwing doors. This brings some issues when the car flips over, because this way occupants could get trapped inside. The car was able to “realise” it’s on its roof and detonate small charges in door hinges just above (or in this case below) occupants’ heads in order to let them free themselves. So maybe thats what those pyrotechnic charges are about? I don’t know. I’m for sure trying to read too much into it but from what I gathered from this tread this what it’s all about lol.
Usually I try to make sense but this time it’s just for fun, this will probably be a stretch anyway xD I can barely read code but... : -We are really close to the 10 years anniversary -It says "pyrotechnicCharge" (hum... like fireworks ?) -Diamondback says it’s « fun » -Devs are quite silent, we don’t have much infos from all those months of development (Nothing else to show ? Weird, unless it's technical stuff but still...) (Keeping a surprise ? Maaaybe...) What if it has something to do with fireworks to celebrate a surprise release for the 10 years anniversary ?
Thats reading alot into it yes. We do have about the same amount of info imo. The pyro thing is probably whats already been mention. I dont expect the update to come soon, although i really hope it does. Lately weve been seeing more i fo from the devs than earlier imo. I really appreciate that cause that keeps the community happy afaik but im in that said community so im probably biased lol
Am i the only one who read pyrotechnical charge and assumed the devs where going full 8 Ball and making car bombs instead of fireworks?
That’s what I thought initially, although I’m not sure how likely it is. I guess it could really be anything though.
may be anything. From operable doors and hood As Game Content ( not mods ) Or it may be something like as said a bomb. OR anything. Very cool stuff.
My prediction: The "pyrotechnic charge" means the game can automatically set off an explosive if you crash, killing the player irl ,and thus making the game more realistic.
My speculation is excessive on purpose x) (I don’t genuinely believe it, tho it would be great fun) The code looks like it's related to a modern car, so most likely the upcoming Civetta. Realistically the others are probably right, I've never heard of this mechanism but it sounds interesting
The "sensors" part of the code leads me to speculate the devs are taking what they learned from BeamNG.tech and implementing realistic car sensor simulation into the game, so we can have things like realistic self-driving cars, automatic braking, lane assistance and adaptive cruise control. The reason why this update is taking so long might be because they had to re-write parts of the base code so that can work properly, but who knows, maybe they'll also be using that to make better AI. This could also explain why they won't support 32-bit systems, the game having to handle all of that probably got too much for them to handle. Edit: Just noticed the two-step launch control part of the code, so that's going to be fun!
Also, since Angelo is now part of the dev teamand he worked on a ADS mod, he could have helped with it, even though he said the mod won't be incorpored in the game since it's not up to their quality standards.
Could be a stretch but pyro charge were used on the Mercedes SLS to blow up the hinges of the gullwings doors in case the car rolled over. It was done to prevent any occupant being trap in the car because they wouldnt be able to open the door while the car was inverted. Maybe the new Civetta has gullwings door or similar and the devs wants to implement the "blow off the hinges in case of a rollover" feature ?
