That’s a wrong point of view on content creator branch. It’s to make sure that everybody who does reviews have enough time to create a quality content without misleading informations, as it usually happened in past due to rush just to push the video. Giving wrong impression of the game. If they’d got it at the same time as all the players then not everyone of them could make it on time due to various reasons and they’d loose the hype-train powered views, and that lead to lower quality content if it’s not paying off in views compared to other stuff they create. In the end that leave bad image on BeamNG.drive. The next thing is that many of those guys can provide valid feedback from outside of the BeamTeam and that’s healthy for the game in a long term. Opinion of one expert on certain subject is better than thousand of opinions of 12yo that play NFS and expect cars to take a sharp 90* turn drifting at 300kph. In the end it provides for all of us. Look at it in that way. The better the game looks in the videos created by those behind “content creator branch” the more copies will be sold, that equal better research and more people in the dev team, that lead to quicker and better game development so it’s a Win-Win for everybody. And it’s not like they get access to finished 0.25 update, rather version that is stable enough with new content to make it possible for them to work on their reviews, but works continue till update is ready for public release.
In that case, what all is left to do, at least that can be shared? The Scintilla actually looks legit and I can see graphics improvements as well - perhaps I underestimated you!
Can we just talk how the Civetta Scintilla looks sexy? The devs have done a great job in it! I can't wait to drive this beast!
It reminds me a lot of real life modern supercars, such as the McLaren 720S, the Porsche 918 Spyder and the Ferrari SF90 Stradale. Basically, it looks like how it should look like. And I agree that it looks better than the Bastion (and the Bastion is not a bad looking car at all).
I was wondering if that was a placeholder sound, and although it was okay, I'm excited that it might sound more like a rumbly McLaren or screaming Zonda or Lamborghini! Who knows, but the Beam Devs haven't failed on anything sound wise, at least to me.
It probably is "just" a V8, but if I had to guess, I would say it comes down to sound sourcing issues
V10 Take it or leave it lol I highly doubt a v12 would be practical in a car this size. Let alone fit in the back of this thing lmao.
yeah im sure the car will still be cool with a V8 but it'll definitely be a bit of a let down unless they somehow source a dramatically different V8 sound. V10 would be ideal
if it has a v8, unless they manage to make it sound like no other v8 in the game, i would be a bit disappointed and would most likely switch the sound for a v10 or 12. something like the Ferrari 458 would still be amazing. --- Post updated --- but best to have the best to begin with so on the mp servers without mods you can still listen to great sounds.
I think it should be at least a v10 because the engine block seems to continue behind the wheel arch and the weird exhaust can be explained by it being an equal length header put into a compact package.
Some context on our update process (for anyone wondering): on each update as far back as I remember, we have worked until the very last minute: fixing blocking bugs, finalizing game content, preparing media/changelogs/etc, doing an extra round of QA because of some last-minute work, polishing what we have time for, etc. These content creator pre-releases therefore have plenty of bugs, some work-in-progress content, or even omitted (broken) content. Those few content creators are forced to deal with the game as-is, reporting issues, avoiding those problems when recording content, and providing feedback. To give an idea, earlier today we were working on a bug that CTDs the game for people speaking certain languages, even before they could reach the main menu. That's not the kind of build we want to rush to release publicly. We prefer to work until it's in a truly acceptable state for you, the much larger community. As soon as that happens, we release the update (good old "when it's ready" ).
For anyone interested, the upcoming update should be followed at some point by an update to the awesome SSRB track: https://www.beamng.com/threads/ssrb.22549/page-8#post-1421847 I'm looking forward to this almost as much as the main update
