More likely to be the K-Series than anything, but a man can dream

    Tire thermals.
    Covet.
    Maybe first campaign.
    Maybe motion blur.

Just a 3 months update won't be "big" update.
Like, also, this 4 things are already big for me. I've been waiting thermals and motion blur since forever.
I like drifting a lot and thermals will be a before and after for the game.
And so for racing. Just needs proper aero system and thing is good to go.

The Wendover V8 is mounted transversely and it probably can fit since it's a 2x2.2l I4 design.
Also, don't underestimate the abilities of this V8. It can make huge amounts of power and torque in more extreme states of tune (and especially with Stage 2 and larger Superchargers), with the only problem being that even the Stage 3 Performance Long Block can't handle all that torque and blows up. Otherwise, it's a monster of an engine.

Furthermore, QA_Stable, as the name suggests, is the stable branch, which means it is "stable" and simply requires small QA testing, it too can be updated multiple times before the update releases, the Creator Program branch can also be considered part of the QA process, as the dev team listens to feedback from creators,

    That's what I've gathered atleast.

Not to get off topic but I thought the aero system was pretty good?

But maybe this update will be big, because of in game jbeam editor. And that's why we saw a little content ("Only Covet").

not really, it calculates the aero force of every surface in the car, regardless of occlusion, and there's no force passed between vehicles.

so slipstreaming doesn't exist at all, and parts like the seats of the car affect how much aerodynamic drag you have.
removing the windscreen should be awful for aerodynamics, but currently it improves them, just because it's one less surface getting pushed through the air.

to summarise what we're likely to see in 0.26:
    likely:
-covet remaster +MR turbo, possibly a facelift and alternate bodystyle
    -K series remaster/content pass
-PBR WCUSA (as seen in the MR covet video teaser)
-PostFX tweaks: better AO, motion blur, possibly autoexposure?
-The first prototype of career mode
    -interior customisation to more vehicles
-openable doors etc. to more vehicles

    Possible:
-Further deprecation of DirectX & torqe3d, implementation of Vulkan
    -Tire Thermals system
    -in-game JBeam editor
    -PBR ECUSA/Italy/Automation

-official multiplayer (a chat system is mentioned in the EULA)

    Unlikely or Likely for 0.27:
    -Moonhawk/sunburst/phase 2 Grand Marshal/etc. remaster
    -New "Sunny & Dry" map

Not Likely for a few updates:
-Aerodynamics overhaul (TDev mentioned there was nothing in the pipeline)
-new RPM sweep or synthesised engine sounds
    -raytraced audio system
    -Proportional Node-to-flexbody deformation

There was also a mystery feature that nadeox was waiting for before releasing his SSRB V2 map, it was planned to ship with 0.25, but was obviously delayed.
I'm thinking that could be a more thorough LOD system, or perhaps even terrain tiling?

    Proportional Node-to-flexbody deformation.
When was this talked about, and what do it entails?

I really hope its terrain tiling, would open up so many potential new things, trucking careers be one

stoat muldoon has mentioned it once or twice on discord,
the basic premise is that currently each vertex in the mesh is bound to the single nearest node, so if you have a high poly mesh, the edgeloops aren't very far apart, but will still stretch the full distance that those 2 nodes do, leading to the mesh spiking unde deformation, as we've seen even with recent official vehicles like the wigeon and scintilla.
i've attached a basic image to roughly explain this:
    upload_2022-9-10_18-25-21.png
I don't know if they have a plan on how to execute it, but afaik it would involve calculating a vertex's position between the nearest two nodes, and moving it according to that. that may lead to parts appearing to "bend" more than "crumple" than they currently do though, we'll have to see how they go about it.

That could possibly make the front suspension animation more accurate, currently it stretches weirdly on full lock on many vanilla cars

They are working on replacing both, torque with their own engine based on it

Oh, that's actually really neat. Do they have a timeframe for when it'll be implemented or?

Aren't multiple viewports meant to be coming for 0.26 as well? or is that just in the works

I'd move the K-Series remaster in the possible list, we only had one teaser of the parts and we still haven't seen them on the car

we only know of one other car getting content in 0.26, the covet, and as far as we know a lot of work on it had already been done when 0.25 was being worked on.
the K series' jbeam structure is still decent by current standards, so it won't need much work, which leaves the majority of the workload for it on the art team.
I see no reason to suspect it's going to be delayed.
