Ah, how fun. Much joy. Great time. Only wonderful things. Just the best. Absolute terracotta. 100% HeadSmashedInBuffaloJump.
Probably some side walls for the flatbed upfit, to keep the stuff on the flatbed. Usual part of such an upfit IRL but it's the first time I see it in BeamNG.
One thing that strikes me as odd about the trophy truck (and Tyrannos buggy) teasers is that they've not been preceded by teasers for similar factory/street-legal configs, like with the Scintilla and Covet V2. Showing off the factory configs first has been a semi-tradition for new vehicles never seen before, all the way back to the Hopper. The Scintilla and Covet V2 both had three to four teasers showing off the factory versions, then had their final teasers be the top-spec off-road configurations (Off-Road Scintilla, Covet MR Rally). Meanwhile, this trophy truck has had one teaser, and the Tyrannos buggy has also had one teaser. Neither have had many - if any - hints as to what their stock counterparts could be, or if those will be included. It's not unprecedented to show off new vehicles in non-road-legal configurations - the Bastion and Bolide V2 were (possibly first?) teased in their Hotlap Special and 390 GT Rally-Gravel configs. However, this was a clear photo, the rally Bolide was one of the main focuses of new content for that car's remaster, and you could quite clearly see what the Bastion would look like in its stock configuration. Really dark videos for new vehicles have been done before - the FCV was one of the first to do it, but that was in a factory configuration. (Likely the Vivace S 270, judging by the front bumper and wheels.) The Tograc was surprise-dropped, but that's mostly a new front end and some suspension changes on the Vivace - not two all-new off-road frames with no firm factory "base". This might be a new trend for new vehicle teasers - show off the special versions first, then save the factory versions for later. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if the trophy truck's another D-Series addition. It'd certainly save the hassle of having to maintain another pickup truck, with how many frames those tend to get. (The D-Series has 20 frames; with the Roamer (4) and H-Series (5) included, that's 29 frames for the Gavril truck platform - all different from each other. However, with the new methods of "frame-building" and other streamlining already demonstrated on these trucks, I don't think having two official truck platforms with similar content levels is impossible.) I dunno, thought this would be interesting.
It was indeed very interesting! I really hope something like this remains true because i have a really bad feeling in the guts that there will be no normal road legal vehicle at all which would be disappointing for me atleast.
Why, thank you! I'm glad you found it interesting. I presume you're referring to the trophy truck, right? I highly doubt BeamNG will stop making factory cars or turn their focus completely to race cars and off-roaders. The trophy truck's certainly an interesting prospect - it could be the first non-road-legal separate vehicle, but most likely, it'll be added as another frame for either the D-Series or an all-new truck. The only vehicle like it (the D-Runner) was clearly and repeatedly shown to be based on the D-Series - its models were revealed by Jared six months before it was released in its own Microblogs thread. (It also was teased two months before a major update - 0.20, August 2020 - but released in the following major update - 0.21, December 2020. The trophy truck was teased in October of 2022.) I don't think we'll be getting teasers that obvious for the trophy truck for a while. If it's based on an entirely new truck, the trophy truck could be held back longer than six months to allow the regular truck (and maybe SUV) to be completed first. There also is precedent for major updates revealing the names of upcoming vehicles - I think the 0.24 blogpost is the first instance of the Bastion's name being mentioned, and the first instance of it being shown in a street-legal configuration. With how many trucks and buggies we now have coming, hopefully one of those at least gets named in the 0.27 blogpost. The Tyrannos buggy is what I'm calling the "SBR4 buggy" until there's more firm evidence of what it's based on (if any) and/or until it is named by the devs. It's just easier for me to call it that - sorry if I confused you.
I found your comment very interesting too. Tbh, I hope the Trophy Truck is part of the lineup of a modern Full-Size Pick-Up Truck because we already know what an 80s/90s Full-Size Pick-Up Truck feels, performs, handles and, ultimately, is like. Modern cars have changed quite a lot thanks to electronics, so it would make sense to see what a modern Pick-Up Truck would be like. After all, we must not forget that, over the past year or so, we got two other vehicles with this way of thinking: the Bastion (a modern version of the Special, the Bluebuck and the Grand Marshal, despite the fact that it belongs in Bruckell, which is a competitive brand to Gavril) and the Scintilla (a modern version of the Bolide).
For Trophy Truck I think its D-Series. I wonder if we get a criminal career mode, like Hijacking a cars and epic police chases. Beam.NG is so much better than GTA.
Based on the number of different trophy chassis we have seen, it probably won't. My guess is that either it will be a separate vehicle with different chassis shape and body options, or a chassis option for existing vehicles (like the Piccolina buggy) that will share assets with other vehicles, such as suspension, wheels, and axles.
i doubt they intend to leave it with no stock counterpart, but I could potentially see them announcing the truck's name, and releasing the standalone trophy truck as a "preview" of the stock truck to come in 0.28. that being said: >We can presume that all the new buggies share a lot of components other than the bare chassis, in both model and Jbeam, so they're probably quite a bit quicker to make than a normal vehicle >And we knew jared was already pretty far along with the autobuggy during 0.26 development >The K-series remaster seems like it was well underway while they were developing 0.26 (it probably took a backseat so they could implement the animated shifters) but i'd imagine there's not that much remaster work required there, just new content on top. considering the typical development schedule of ~2 vehicles getting major work every 3 months, it's not entirely inconceivable that the whole brickup bruck might be scheduled for release with 0.27. I still wouldn't hold my breath though.
