I wonder if we'll ever get a straight-block diesel in the D/H/Roamer or Hopper - that'd be very nice to see. That level of progression from new cars to old cars has happened before many times. The Scintilla was the first vehicle to feature opening doors that weren't cargo bay doors, while the Covet V2 featured an opening hood and tailgate (and functional hood release!). Likewise, the Bluebuck's hydraulics were ported over to the remastered Grand Marshal, and I wouldn't be surprised if the trophy truck and buggies are sharing some suspension stuff with the D-Runner and Hop-Crawler. The remastered Roamer's more thorough facelift structure (new fenders, radiator support, interior, valance, tailgate, and hood, among other things) was repeated in the D-Series' facelift, whereas the pre-facelift D-Series shared almost everything with the regular D-Series. The slidenodes that came out with the Sunburst in 0.3.6 (I think? It certainly lines up with how fast cars got pumped out between then and 0.6) led to a deluge of new, mostly strut-using vehicles. If the new Autobello van gets an inline diesel, turbo'd or not, I wouldn't be surprised if the D/H/Roamer and Hopper get inline diesels in a later update. Granted, that's not a certainty, but it's certainly a strong possibility.
Unless it's an aftermarket swap, I don't see why Gavril would offer a diesel 6-cylinder and 8-cylinder in the same vehicles during the same time period, designed to do the same job. Unless the 6-cylinder is smaller and therefore not particularly realistic, it wouldn't make any real sense. --- Post updated --- I don't think I'd consider the T-Series and Wentward motors "modern", seeing as the vehicles which contain them came out in 1977 and 1987 respectively.
Talking about all the passenger car engines. The 1.5/2.0 FCV diesels and the 2.0/3.0 modern ETK diesels.
Gotcha. I assumed you were talking about all of them together because ManfredE3 mentioned "compacts and a-class license vehicles".
Overall we need more diesels in game. The Hopper is one of the biggest offenders here. That's another vehicle that has a lot of content but still has a ton more needed. I can't see Gavril offering an i6 diesel though, that should be saved for a Bruckell truck IMO. IRL counterparts usually only offered one diesel at a time (sometimes in two different displacements) and manufacturers often stick to their preference of V or i-block for this application. The two exceptions I can think of are: First gen Superduties made in Brazil. These used a tiny diesel i-block and a medium sized i6 instead of the huge V-blocks found in US made trucks. 4th and 5th gen RAM trucks. The 1/2 ton have a 3.0 diesel V6 option while the HD trucks get a Cummins i6 While I keep saying I don't think the trophy truck is an indicator of a new pickup truck coming, I still believe a modern Bruckell pickup is inevitable sooner or later. When that time does come, an i6 diesel would be right at home there.
what years do people think the new Bello bus will be produced? I have seen many people guessing the 70s-80s but I am not sure.
The Hopper could certainly get a couple of diesel I4 and I6 engines, both with NA and turbo options. The I4 ones can be oriented towards farmwork while the I6 ones can be more suitable for towing and off roading.
im gonna guess, mid to late 60s to early 80s, i feel like if it was newer then that it, would have square or rectangle headlights, but that paint job screams 80s so i think its a mix of 60s and 80s,
The Chevrolet C/K did have a 4.2L turbodiesel L6 for the Brazillian and Argentinian markets while selling V8 diesels elsewhere at the same time. Granted, that's like, one of the few instances that's happened, but it has happened - and with a straight six about the same size as the current Gavril truck six. I think Manfred proposes a better solution than mine, though. Fair enough. I guess I just want to have a big six that's at least moderately modifiable outside of the intake in this game. Many of the ~4.0-liter sixes only get like, 5-10 horsepower increases or decreases without nitrous or mods, with the Moonhawk six can't get any more power at all. The only way to go with the Hopper for power is down. Even the Bruckell L4s get superchargers and performance blocks now, so you can almost double their power outputs and make really nice lightweight versions of the LeGran and Wendover.
Tbh, for the modern Bruckell Pick-Up Truck, the V6 and I6 Turbodiesel options can both be offered. The V6 can also become available in the Bastion, for selling it in Europe and for offering a more logical variant for those who go many miles every day. The V8 Turbodiesel Pick-Up Truck niche is covered with the D-Series but the big I6 Turbodiesel niche (along with the V6 Turbodiesel sub-niche) can be perfectly covered by a new Bruckell Pick-Up Truck. --- Post updated --- I believe it's gonna be from late 60s to early 90s. This type of vehicle usually has a long production period.
The TD I6 also needs to be in the Bastion, as an aftermarket swap obviously. Let's do some crazy Westen Champlin Smokestang crap!
I can only assume the new van will have crazy amounts of customization including lights, bumpers, engines, tires, and lots more.
Dunno about being aftermarket by itself (after all, an official V6 Turbodiesel variant of such a car is very practical for many customers) but it certainly can have its own tuning parts - HD/UHD/Performance long blocks, larger/adjustable turbos, louder exhausts, adjustable ECU! edit: Oh, you're talking about the big Turbodiesel I6! Why the hell not?
