The concept art does look great, but does this mean the ATVs aren't coming? Then why have the ATVs in the image if they're not going to be part of the game? There's plenty of other off-roaders already coming with this update - the Bello Bus, the trophy truck, the T-Rex buggy, etc. There's also quite a few off-roaders already in-game. Why show content which isn't coming? AFAIK, showing off vehicles that aren't coming into the game in teasers hasn't been done before. If this is going to become normal, that's just...not going to be fun at all.
I figured this would happen with the amount of teasers we've been getting. People start taking all the new information for granted and start complaining. Why cant we be stoked for a new map and several new vehicles? I agree that physics stuff would be awesome to see, but it's been said (I think in the beamng live stream they did) that they are actively working on physics stuff, but roadblocks appear that put development on hold. Yeah, I know we're paying customers and we have the right to be critical/concerned with the game, but like come on it's not even been 3 months since the last update and we're likely to get more content than any other update
If I had to guess, I would say today's teaser was not what Leeloo had in mind thursday, but rather that something came up between then and now and this was one that would have been better than nothing. Though I would wonder if the ATVs will ever come, had they been planned at one point and canceled? Or delayed? Or transformed into something new? Alternatively, it could be that we're loosing sight of the main point of the teaser - just how large the desert really is. If we assume that the art is basically true to the layout of the map, and combine that with the lack of visible cell tower (video), house/building (Autobella truck), and gas station, the map could be quite bigger than previously thought.
I am very excited about getting a new map and several new vehicles - I'm just confused as to why the teaser included content that we aren't getting. I'd love to have an official side-by-side, especially two of them - they'd be great fun to zip around in. I don't mind that I was wrong with my ETK 800 remaster prediction - I expected to be wrong.
Tbh it would have been better to just replace that vehicle with something already in game Or just not include it all this has been a bit of a disaster cause of it
Hypothetically, for the sake of the argument, which vanilla chassis could be used to make a BRP Maverick and how could we convince the devs to make it Also I wonder how similar the new map will be to the Sandy Mountains one, which was made by a dev as well if I recall correctly
That's a fair point, they could have used a vehicle they already teased Tbh i think it would be best if we went back to teasers 1-3 times a month, as to not get people's hopes up on random things and make this whole mess happen
There are a lot of people moaning on here aren't there? I'm happy waiting for the update, and am enjoying the teasers as they come. I understand that concept art is just that. So I do not see it as anything else. All previous updates have been excellent. I see no reason why this won't be. There is already enough content in the game for me, so anything more is a bonus.
And then that'll culminate into extreme backlash on steam and Reddit and multiple other platforms if the devs went total radio silent for months. Less sales, people thinking the game won't get anymore updates anymore, etc. There is no winning with that one. We are the community, we pay for the game - we employ the developers, if we didn't buy the game or hadn't in the first place or supported the devs since it came out; the game wouldn't be in the state it is today. So yes, I think it's fair for all of us to be a little annoyed.
If a Maverick-esque vehicle were to be made, I reckon it'd probably be better to use a custom frame for it. Tube-frame vehicles aren't as difficult to make as regular cars and trucks, from the looks of it. If it had to be on a vehicle already made, I think the T-Rex buggy would be...alright.
At the very least I'd expect BeamNG staff not to go the passive-aggressive route when engaging with their community. Then yeah, I expected a lot more than another concept art of a map we already knew about, with a vehicle that isn't coming to the game (according to your comments), after you hyped us up by telling us we'd get "something awesome" for this tuesday's teaser. I don't think I'm the only one that's disappointed either. This game was built on its physics engine, of course some people would expect a "really complicated diagram", unless you believe that the community is only made up of people that are too dumb to understand said diagrams? At least it feels like it with your answer.
i feel its possible that 'next tuesday' could be the well next Tuesday and not coming Tuesday but idk
I bought the game 7 years ago. And honestly I’m just amaze that I’m receiving quarterly and/or yearly update. I didn’t buy it on the promise of anything (and the devs are good at not promising anything apart what is coming for sure in the next update), but what it was and I’m just happy to see it been worked on, refine. I really don’t get why people were so disappointed today, I think we just all got our hopes too high (like honestly, what would have satisfied you? Reading people, I feel like nothing would have been enough). I’m personally stoke to see this new teaser for the map, I can’t wait to see what it’ll looks like in game and hopefully the update will come sooner then we think.
that is possible since i can't find any buggy that matches the one in the picture, so i could be a very very sneaky peak of next years buggy
The driveable area shown in the teaser is massive and just a straight line. Since you don't build maps that are just one long road either this is very abstract art not giving us any info, or they are building a massive map, maybe indicating changes to the way the game handles heightmaps and their sizes, what would be a huge change from the game engine (physics) site I have to agree that showing a vehicle that is not to come without any disclaimer next to it is very misleading
I'm questioning this new map. From what we've seen it's very wide open and it uses a lot of assets from Small Island, which makes me wonder what makes this map stand out. We have offroad trails on most maps, and Utah has a lot of really wide open areas. Not to mention that it looks like a purely offroad focused map so far. Sure, that's cool, but is it really the best choice to put dev resources towards a one trick pony of a map?
