Update Speculation thread

yes, it will get a fire truck config for sure, but we first thought it wouldnt be a stock fire truck

 

Closest I have is this one with the historic dates for Holiday updates .

Someone else usually posts days between updates and calendar days of updates.

With creator branch updating today I suspect Thursday will be another "final teaser" with something really weird like the sawzall Scintilla was, and update dropping in the first half of next week.

 

I also love such small, utilitarian trucks. He will definitely be the object of my attention during the New Year holidays (I hope that the update will be released earlier than 2023)

 

There's about 1,000 messages in the past week alone, if it didn't slow down the thread would be 5,000 pages long by next Thanksgiving

It'll be a support vehicle in some form or another; I'd consider it in the same class as the fire chief Roamer in that sense. We could get a brush truck D-Series to match the rest now...

 

But roamer?

The Roamer, LeGran, and another one I’m forgetting have fire chief configurations, but this is the first fire engine, if it’s even a fire engine. (Devs have said they have no plans to make a firetruck, but this could be a support truck or something)

 

I agree that it won’t be the heavily specialized firetruck we see now. But a 60s to 80s European style firetruck. Something lighter then today, made to move firefighters around and their equipment, particularly in smaller town and country region like in the Italy map.
And so I don’t feel like it’ll be just a support vehicle.

 

I don’t check SteamDB myself, but has qa_stable(?) been updated yet? if not, it does seem kinda odd creator branch has been updated first

Do you guys think a teaser will be posted tomorrow? If so, what will it contain?
(I kinda doubt there will be a teaser, because why would Leeloo want to give us a teaser if everyone hated the last one?)

OT - I'm extremely excited about what's been teased so far. My hope is that we will get a full vehicle out of the new TT that's been teased, but I can see how it would be likely to just be a race variant only. The offroad focus for 0.27 seems to definitely point towards the new map having a lot more offroad focus as well, however, I do hope that there's at least a little bit of desert 2 lane road to blast down in a proper road car. There seems to be some promising updates to engine sounds as well, which most people would agree is going to be a welcome change to the current sound climate. Do we feel as though there's a chance of at least one new engine being released with the XTV that we don't currently have in-game?
