Congratulati My fellow countryman does everything in his power to please the people of the softbody physics simulator empire! --- Post updated --- Okay if this wouldn´t been wrote by you should have got a Staff Pick
Just looked at the new teaser for the first time My GOD its WHAM, also is that a massive open somewhat flat area there? time for some top speed runs --- Post updated --- WAIT touring car 800 would be really cool, but this is a speculation thread
Yes I’m very curious too. Cause on the left of the picture there is mountains, even if they’re easy to climb they block our view of the void and define the end of the playable world. But on the right there’s like dunes forever which seems weird.
The problem here might be that aero in Beam is not yet as complex as it is in racing sims, so my bet is that if they are ever going to revamp the aerodynamics system, it will come with some mad GT3 cars.
Maybe the vastly improved aero is one of the major things Stenyak might have been talking about earlier in regards to things that have taken many years to implement
Actually now that you've put them side by side, it's pretty clear (I think, at least) that these are the same vehicle, it's just that the older picture doesn't have body panels. You can see the same two little headlights in the front, the same lightbar, the same curve of the door as well as the rest of the shape of the vehicle, the same roof light setup, the scoop on the roof is the same, and the suspension looks like it's all the same. You can even see a little bit of that fire extinguisher on the driver's side on the newest pic.
But there's nothing off to the right. My theory is that there are cliffs like in Utah behind the photo location and to the left. On the far side of the valley, at the base of the mountains, and to the right there is a ravine that you cant cross. I don't know. Maybe they did just go and make the map gigantic.
I never really noticed how much the active player base of BeamNG has grown, but in the last 2 years there has been a huge increase, the daily max number of players at the same time has been holding steady over 10k since November. Looking at the trend I'm certain we are going to have a new all-time peak when the update drops, but can we get to 20k this time around or it is too soon for this milestone just yet?
I think a super light duty version could use larger versions of the pickle's F4 in a longitudinal FF configuration with IFS.
Logically, if you really wanted to save space, you would want an air-cooled V4. It's no longer than an inline-twin or flat-4, wider than an inline-twin but narrower than a flat-4, and not quite as tall as an inline-4. The noise, vibration and harshness inherent to a V4 is not such a concern in a utility vehicle. If you need more power, go with an air-cooled 2-stroke diesel V4... as far as I know, no such engine was ever made, at least in a size suitable for a car or light truck xD
also note this doesnt even include people playing beammp through the launcher. i have about 20 hours of beammp over the past 2 weeks that hasnt contributed to my steam playtime for beam. this game is massive
I see references to this game pop up all over the Internet from time to time, there's even the occasional viral BeamNG gif. Makes me proud to be part of something bigger! Most people still think of it as "that funny car crash simulator" though, hopefully the added off-road content helps more people appreciate the true depth of this game.
