Update Speculation thread

I have a feeling they won't make it, seeing as we haven't heard anything. Though would be nice to be suprised.

 

Markos might have meant the FPU/Beaver/XTV. We only got one teaser of that and still don't know a thing about it

 

I believe it's gonna drop on Wednesday because it's Tuesday before that and it's kinda tradition to signify the dropping of the update with one last Teaser Tuesday!

I think most have agreed that it will come a sometime this week.

 

That’s right, for me it sounded like the teaser on Thursday would be the last one though as Leeloo asked what we wanted to see

 

IMO the content list for the new update would look like this :

Things we will be getting :

- Trophy truck, possibly with a stadium version
- Autobello buggy, might even be getting the SBR engine that was added to the common folder last update.
- Autobello van, 4x4 and 6x6. Most likely with pickup versions that can also be equipped with bed tents. Could also be a cool way to introduce a "on-the-fly" tyre deflation/inflation system as we know it's possible to do
- That crawler/rock bouncer thing. I also don't think it's going to be an SBR4-based vehicle, but rather a fully custom vehicle
- The FPU/Otter 8x8 amphibious vehicle, they use hydrostatic clutches IRL so that might also mean that this tech could make it into the game as well.
- The new map. Not much to say about it other than it's going to be massive and have pretty much only a single paved road. Fits the offroad theme of this update pretty well.
- Career mode beta improvements
- General graphics stuff and optimization

Things we will not be getting :

- Dirt, dust, or scratches. I think such an important feature would've been teased right now so I doubt it's coming.
- Tire temperature/wear simulation. Same thing as with the dirt/scratches : a feature this big and important would've been teased at this point.
- The K-Series/800-Series remaster. I don't think it would fit this update, as it's mainly focused on off-road stuff. We also haven't heard about it in a while now so it's fair to say it's not coming with this update.

As for the date I still think it's going to be tomorrow (December 12th) or the 13th. It'll be 5 days since the Creator Program branch would've been up to date, and from what we've seen they're working on the video trailers too.

 

Where have you seen this, maybe i missed something

 

off topic, but i think the trackfab brawler has "on the fly" tyre inflation / deflation, which shows it can be done and would be an amazing addon for offroad vehicles

 

Worth pointing out that Leeloo didn't think the audience was generally interested in physics changes being teased, so tyre thermals may still be on their way to debut in this update but just haven't been teased simply because they haven't been.
