are developers already creating a changelog? this most likely means that they have finished working on the update itself, which is good news.
Can we get the most used word in that blogpost as the next teaser? The blog is more of a showcase for the most important new features while the changelogs lists most (if not all) of the changes the update made to the game. The changelogs might contain things you won't really notice.
Heh, I wish! There were a few releases when I was finishing writing as things were being polished. I actually added my changes just earlier today and haven't mentioned them in the changelog yet (bad me, very bad). Consider it a rough estimate of how massive this is gonna be, given the word count Generally in English it's the word "the" but not gonna like - I'm too lazy to count, still got a lot to do and I'm currently under the spell of covid
We've already got the Hustle and Bustle campaign as a template for any other future movie scenarios - it's got green screens and everything. It's hinting at how massive the update will be, since the blogpost will be really long. (I thought it'd be the changelog, but Leeloo quickly corrected me on that.) For reference, here's the (approximate) length of the blogposts of some recent updates, ever since the devblogs and changelogs got split: 0.26: 800 words long 0.25: 750 words long 0.24.1: 400 words long 0.24: 1,000 words long 0.23: 900 words long 0.22 and back include the "devblog" and changelog in one post, so they don't really count for this discussion. 0.25's full changelog is about 5,000 words, which is a fairly typical length for a changelog - I have no idea how long 0.27's changelog are gonna be. 10,000 words? 20,000? Wow. I thought you were talking about the changelog at first. Also, why did the devblogs and changelogs get separated? I don't mind it, but I'm just curious about it. Is it easier to have them separate?
I guess the blog is just more to the point and exciting for most players, who probably don't really care about technical changes and just wanna see the new content. There's always a link to the changelog for people who are interested.
A'ight, that makes sense. It's just something I've never thought about much before, but now that I've seen the difference it makes...yeah, I get why they're split now.
@Leeloo do get better, you work faster that way /s --- Post updated --- In all seriousness though, I do hope you get better.
For a number of reasons. Blogs are meant to be more of a highlight of major additions and improvements, they are written in a format that's easier to read for the general public, and also included media is usually lighter and/or loads up from a third-party platform, this makes blogs quicker to load. Changelogs contain basically everything, the language tends to be far more technical, and the media includes a massive amount of images or videos when necessary to visualize the changes, these tend to be native, so the page can be slower to load. We still have some plans to optimize our website to make it all even quicker
