Update Speculation thread

The time is really really slow today.

 

No mods approved on the repo yet, on a Monday... usually there's a lot of them, and in fact they've occasionally been approving a few mods to go with more recent updates. It's about 10:30 in Germany by the way

 

Maybe the mod makers are gonna wait for the update and then fix their mods that were gonna be approved

This means it a high chance that they are pushing the update out today as usually there are new mods out by 10-11am GMT, this is a good sign and a big clue potentially

 

yeah by the time im logged in at work at about 8:30 there's normally a couple mods approved. idk, it's not a concrete method but it's something

Holy shit, you're right. Last Monday (5 Dec. 2022), there were about 15 mods approved; the previous Monday (28 Nov. 2022), it was 18.

Today's been dead silence from the mod approval team...now, all we need is one song to drop in here to truly give us the final countdown.

Oh...okay, that makes sense.

Also, looking at previous updates, it seems like mod approvals do not always correlate to releases.

0.26 released on Sept 19, 2022, the same day seven mods were uploaded to the repo.

Likewise, 0.24 and 0.24.1 both had mods uploaded on the same days they released (2 Dec. and 20 Dec. 2022, respectively).

0.25, however, was released on June 15, 2022 - with no mods uploaded to the repo on that day.

So, it's a possibility, but not a certainty.

 

I do remember sometimes they approve mods after the update but still on the same day...

 

Yes, that has happened before - and it certainly makes sense to upload mods (that aren't broken) right after a major update, to incentivize as many people to download them.

Well, enjoy the snow where you live - I ain't got any where I live. I had some a week or two ago, but now, all I'm getting is rain, rain, and more rain.

 

All these hints and things from the staff are here to hype us up but also confuse us I swear , whatever happens you have all done a great job

The "feature" is it being selected for the featured community mod..

 

I don't think so. I think the update will be later this week if not next week.

 

I feel like they would be actively doing something to kill the hype if that was the case

Even if it isn't today, I'm fine with waiting a week or so to get absolutely shoveled with content I'll likely be spending months or years enjoying.
