Update Speculation thread

I'm guessing the ETK K will be getting a functional convertible seeing as we got support for interior wind noise on some cars and they might've had issues with making the roof fold realistically, therefor delaying it.

But that's just a theory, a game theory... /j

 

I think the real reason why the ETK remaster wasn't released has to do with tire thermals, for a Racing car, it'd be a great addition to an update, andso, they made this update much more offroad focused, andas we suspected, much more vehicle focused than features focused

 

But didn‘t they say that they hid a roadblock with tire thermals and wouldn’t work on it anymore for now? (In the dev blog at the end) that would mean that the etk k remaster next update still wouldn’t be paired with tire thermals

 

Are there patch notes for the hotfix?

 

Maybe not next update tho, but they might switch focus to do more racing focuesd cars to go along the ETK and maybe push it back for a year or so, just like they've been doing this 0.27 for 2 years

 

It likely means that since they hit a difficult roadblock with it they would revisit it later but not completely give up on it, and assuming the next update would be racing oriented than it most likely means they will release the update with the given content, minus the tire thermals, and maybe with the addition of something else

 

They said they won't offer another ETA but research is continuing. So it's still WIP but the public has no idea when we can expect it.

In game there is already some code about tire thermals in them, but as I can see, it's just a switch (possibly to do with some arcade or realism mode switch that would be implemented with the feature)

WOW Backroom update confirm !

 

Now that the big offroad pack is done the next vehicle may be a frequently requested one, like the Scintilla was, again.
So either an:
- european/asian (mini)van
unsure if the devs see that one already as fullfilled with the new offroad van
- (european) cabover truck
- modern pickup truck
from my feeling in about that order.

I don't know if I'm afraid or am looking forward to seeing what the offroad team does to a minivan (lifted crawler minivan incoming?)

 

I could see the next update being very track focused as a contrast to this one. The K series can get a gt3 config. Considering the 3 dedicated off raiders we got this update, I wonder if we could get the same for the hypothetical track update. I could see a tube frame pro-drift variant of the 200bx sort of like the piccobuggy being a picco but not really, we could also get an open wheeler and a top fuel dragster. I’m just dreaming tho.

 

While I agree with you that if they do such a huge update again it definetly will be racing focused (tire thermals ) I don't see this being the next update at all, especially considering 0.27 took them 2 years.
So in the meantime there will have to be other vehicles made that will be able to be released independently from each other to have content for each coming update
