tdev already said particles in particular are pretty bad so theres that. trees/leaves are supposed to be translucent as well, so you have to wait for Subsurface Scattering for leaves to look lifelike. the sky is a bit too dark, and everything else have a weird color grade. (you can push gamma to 1.5 depending on your monitor to get brighter colors but some colors will look off etc) people were also waiting for scratch marks. people still complained about AA, which I was aware there was a fix but apparently it has a lot left to be desired in 1080p. users also have complained about the ground having "triangles" in them like the wire mesh in them, appeared on my other gpu. some people want RT, which is understandable since people would want that realism factor but alot of drawbacks since most of the users from this community are on the mid to lower end hardwares and many would complain about performance. thats for another discussion. there is still dirt effects that alot of people are waiting for. The lists goes on and on, its just that tons of things would be a nice touch. No one's forgetting anything, its just that the list is really long and I feel really old now. so to summarize: > particles, doesn't have to be smoke in general > scratch marks > dirt effect > color grading is off > Anti-aliasing requires a lot of rework especially 1080p. a new AA would be nice too. > leaves/vegetation looks really flat, hence subsurface scattering would help with that, and if pedestrians or humans are included will benefit from subsurface scattering, making skin/leaves/vegetation/foliage look natural. > wiremesh bug > new features like RT or full RT (nvidia calls it path tracing but thats for another day) I doubt I'll actually see most of this feature(s) within 1 - 6 updates, not a fan of expectations
Us: “Oh hopefully the teaser reveal is about x, y, or z.” Devs: “It’s a spare tire/donut you can put on your car!” Us: “Oh… my… god. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted.”
Lol why is it that every time I read something you write I hear your voice saying it and I picture a video?
There should be one of the existing vehicles getting remastered like 200BX or Sunburst, cuz they needed a revamp so badly
i know this wont likely ever be implemented into the game but it would be cool to see better mud physics that are like in drowsysam's mod https://www.beamng.com/resources/dsc-mud-pit.22556/
It’s an idea that some devs have put forward to see in game eventually, but there’s a reason it hasn’t been done yet. DrowsySam’s solution was incredibly difficult to create and puts a pretty heavy load on your CPU for the small plot of land that you can get. The devs would have to create a completely different system and modify the game engine a fair bit to end up with something more similar to SpinTires/Mudrunner/Snowrunner.
Leeloo said the team is going to try and get us a super early development teaser next week, so we’ll probably have a teaser on either Tuesday or Thursday next week. I can’t wait to see what it is!
oooo I dint know that I cant wait. I probably wont see it on here cause I'm not that in depth with the forums.
For the original Torque3D game engine someone released a weapon, for free, that used the terrain tool, mapped to a player, that deforms the terrain. I assume something along that route would be possible to map to player/player wheels in Beamng in a similar way.
it's interesting you mention that, as in the now somewhat famous "excavator" thread, TDev also eluded to terrain deformation. if 0.30 is indeed the heavy machinery update, I suspect the main technical feature added to the game will be terrain deformation.
Hey!"Very early WIP" Perhaps this is an unprecedented new thing! This proves that developers have just started to develop and the work is still in progress.
